He & Anime?
How did he get so deep into this "shit"? ;)
(For the explaining part - anime and manga were not very popular back then in Poland)
It started in 1999, when he saw Cowboy Bebop on a gameplay channel, Hyper.
He was amazed how different the style was from common cartoons and how the plot was more interesting. (He remembered recently that he saw Yattaman first, as a kid :P).
H started to look up the TV programs to get more of this new experience. Later on that same channel, he saw The grave of the Fireflies and Vision of Excaflowne. He had no net back then, you know... I think that explains him clearly.
After he got his net, he finally started to go with the flow. :P It started to speed up and here he is now, nearly a maniac. :D
He in personal?
This guy, whose profile your currently viewing is 21 years old and lives proudly (sic!) in the capital of Poland, namely, Warsaw. He is a addicted computer gamer and has some skill in webmastering and Photoshop. His speciality is lately developed colorizing.

His other interests?
His other hobby except Manga & Anime is books.
You could call him a bookworm, if you want. This way he developed his imagination, that he can now use to imagine those censored or cut-off scenes from animes. ;)

Due to the Anime favourite's list being so short he couldnt list ALL Animes he likes, there is not much to add, but he also likes:
- Strike Witches (the new series)
- Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha (all seasons, yeah, some parts were bad, but its lovely after all)

not only GD lib but you need also the FreeType library. If your testing on a local server (like with xampp) you most likely don't have those.
try a <?php phpinfo(); ?> document and check of you have those libs among this huge list wich this single row will return to you XD
