This is probably one of the most beautiful, yet complex anime that I have ever laid my eyes upon. Every little single details in this anime are continually emphasized to draw in the viewer closer and closer. I am almost at lost of words right now. The way they portrayed everything was too beautiful and surreal that it is almost unexpressable.

I absoulutely loved how closely season 1 and 2 are incorporated. Every character from season 1 and 2 were carefully intertwined with one and another, giving the show a wonderful feel to it.

The opening from both seasons were awesome and sung in english too, which is something that doesn't happen very often. There was even an episode that had both of the openings played and thus added in a lively tone for the episode.

This anime was certainlly a masterpiece. Each and every little love story were strokes of success for this anime. Ef, was certainly a refreshing one and is something that will stand out for many years to come. It has truly inspired me as a person to persue my passions and have also encouraged me to face the long road of happiness ahead. I hope that every single viewer out there can take a little piece of this anime and keep it for the rest of their lives. Then maybe one day, there will be a town full of happiness. read more

I'll start off saying that I would at least give this anime the high 9s because there are still flaws but myanimelist.net doesnt have like "9.6", so i had to round up lol. To be honest, it rivals animes like Higurashi, especially cause it is done in 13 episodes, while higurashi was split into 2 seasons with 24 episodes each.

The "sad" part to this series is that there is nudity but surprisingly, not much ecchi or at least not what I really consider as ecchi. I guess the nudity was more of a "dramatic effect". Anyways, I pretty much ignored the nudity during the series because I felt way too attracted to the story itself and the huge amount of blood/gore makes a pretty good coverup for the nudity, haha.

Yeah.. this anime was a refreshing anime. I'm glad that I watched it.. I guess I was too absorbed into animes that portray the "perfect life".. and lets just say this anime shows how pathetic humans can be and how strong emotions are, but at the same time, humans can still bring a lot of good to the world.

I didn't really like the VERY ending where there was a "shadow" of Nyu because I don't like when the anime leaves me guessing. If she's dead, she should stay dead. This anime isn't something that would give a "miracle". At times, Kohta was questionable as a male lead, but he pulled it off, somehow. Yuka was way too dull and annoying to be in the starring line up, so I wasn't too happy with her.

In the end, there were some ups and downs. The story is what triumphed and some of the characters were lacking... well characteristics. I definately can't say I would give it a 10 but a 9 wouldn't cut it either.. so what to do? read more

Well Higurashi was surely a anime that would make the viewer go on a roller coaster of emotions. Higurashi season 1 was like the 'questions' for the entire series and finally season 2 was the 'answers'. Putting the two seasons together is really what makes this anime special.

I don't want this review to be super long because I already made a review for season 1 without watching season 2. So basically this time around, everything bad I said about this anime in my first review, is the opposite of what I think now. It was the questions in season 1 that left me totally hungry for more and full of complaints, but in this season, everything was wrapped up and finished off a great anime.

This anime was truly a big puzzle but once put together, it was beautiful. read more

Higurashi season one sure was interesting. A anime like no other. Very confusing at first but that confusion is what gave me the drive to continue on with this anime. It's the mystery that surrounds each and every character's arc that made me as the viewer, wanting more.

With all that being said, I was actually very disappointed with the ending. A battle between a girl with a machete and a guy with a bat was really stupid but I guess it had its meanings. He was given many opportunities to overpower her and take the machete but I guess that would defeat the "happy ending", which I dislike. Sadly in reality, that crap would never happen and would drag to the point where she just lets him go. A happy ending for this season is truly something that should have not happen, but I guess that was the purpose of it. To satisfy the viewer, so they don't end up like one of the characters during the season.

The only good point about the season finale was how at the very end, I was left guessing that another "arc" popped up again and that is why Rena is all happy back at school and Rika was next on the interviewed list. Thus repeating the cycle of the "never ending June".

As for characters, they all had their mental illness and their obsessions, which in return brought the viewer interests. Unfortunately, there was one character I hated with a passion. That character was Keiichi, the male protagonist. I probably dislike him because of his reactions to the certain situations he was in and how they were the opposite of what I would do, but I can't know for certain unless I was put in the same position. However, I can say that he was weak, pathetic and how all that "lovey-dovey" personality is what saved him in the ending is utterly bullshit.

Overall, I found the way how the producers divided the anime into different arcs and slowly connected them into a some what big mystery to be very effective. I didn't enjoy how it ended and Keiichi's personality, like how I stated previously but I guess they were essential towards the pacing of the story. So in the end, a 8.6/10 for me and since I can't give that decimal number, it'll be rounded up to a 9/10 stars. read more

Special A is what truly portrays a story with a happy ending. Each and every well written character in the series was paired up with another character by the end. Also, how nice of the author to start off the story with two characters who are endlessly in the battle of love and triumph. The author also ends the story with these on going battle.

This story also went through how the paths in life aren't always limited to A and B. You are always entitled to the path that would bring you the most happiness if you truly desire for it. It also went through how love isn't an easy thing and that there are many levels/kinds of love.

As for the art of the series, it was amazing. The artist would do mini round headed stick figures to emphasize the scenes containing comedy was amazing. The character Kei and his will to "mass murder" anybody who dares to threaten is dear beloved Hikari was hilariously portrayed as well.

Overall, a great series it was. Containing not only two beautiful main characters but several of them. Past and present problems were resolved and what is left was a endless cycle of happiness for the future. read more

Clannad, a story like no other; an after story that has never been told before.

Comedy, Tragedy, Love, Sorrow, this anime had it all. At times one would laugh from tears of joy, but there were times one would weep for the sake of the characters.

In the end, this anime fulfilled its goals. It has made an impact towards the heart of the viewer. For better or for worse, anybody who watches this will learn that there is always a After Story in life.

Very dramatic at times, very funny at times, very slow at times, but overall it was very well done. The whole supernatural part wasn't a plus for me but that's just my opinion. I also disliked how they kind of shoved away Mai and her friend. I would have liked it more if they kept playing a active role.

It was also quite weird how the little Ayu was wandering around and how she actually made a physical impression on everybody (once again, supernatural). I think episode 23 (the saddest episode imo) was the best though. I sometimes prefer sad endings and I think that they should have wrapped it up at episode 23. The happy ending was good though but that is why I gave this anime a 9/10 and not a 10/10.

P.S.
The illusions/reality totally threw me back to how season 5 of House ended. A very complex theme to incorporate in a show, but when done correctly, it can be something amazing. read more
