Greetings, and welcome to my profile! Instead of going through the whole required "LOL I'm a huge anime fan, guise!" that's plastered on every single profile on MAL, I'm just going to get right into the important stuff. I'm 20 years old, and I live in Canada. I play the guitar in a band called 'Ivy Inferno', and we've just recently started putting on shows. When I'm not playing music, I generally just sit around and watch anime with some friends!
At the moment, my favourite genres include Psychological and Mystery shows such as Another and Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, Comedy similar to Gintama, and lately I've been really into Mecha anime because I finally went back and watched Neon Genesis Evangelion! For the record, every 'genre deconstruction' I've watched so far has been absolutely fantastic, and I'm always looking for more. My favourite studios are 'P.A. Works' (I'll watch anything they make these days!), and, of course, 'Shaft' because everything they've been pumping out lately has been great! I've enjoyed a couple of anime done by 'Madhouse' as well.
Now, I'm not going to sit here and try to tell you my system of rating anime is better than anyone else's, but it's what makes sense to me, so I'm going to stick with it. When I do my ratings, I rate how much I personally enjoyed a series compared to other shows. This means that the best anime I have seen will always be a 10, and the worst I have seen will always be a 1. The rest all fits in the middle somewhere, though I try to keep my average close to 5.5.
I guess I should wrap this up now, though! As you can probably tell from my short anime list, I'm kind of new, so if you've seen something you think I might enjoy, go ahead and leave a comment! I'd be glad to give almost anything at least a try. I don't generally accept random friend requests, but if you have something interesting to say, or you just want to be an awesome person, message me! I'm sure we can work something out!

I really liked your brief intro and your overall analysis of how you personally rate your anime. This is a good way to start a conversation with other anime followers just like you :). Lol Code Geass and Guilty Crown do a good job of being similar. A foreign military body occupies a futuristic Tokyo and controls its people. But a small group with a lot of cute, strong girls and one lone boy with a remarkable power attempt a rebellion and succeed. There's mechs, explosions, super-weapons, mystery and tragedy.
Tbh though I think Code Geass does a better job of this lol, I love that show.
Music is good in Code Geass too, but THEY don't have Supercell doing their performances, lmao

From this season there's a lot lol, there's Chihayafuru, Shinryaku!? Ika Musume, Working'!!, Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam, Mirai Nikki, Gintama' and Guilty Crown. All those I have an interest in and I'm keeping up with all of them.
Chihayafuru has 25 episodes lined up, it's a bit of a josei, which is the opposite of seinen. But shows like that tend to do a good job of being an emotional trip, and I already have the feeling that it will be. The music, story and animation is done very well. It's funny too.
Ika Musume there is the second season to Shinryaku! Ika Musume, which means Invasion! Squid Girl. It's a comedy and a slapstick, I find it very funny, and especially touching whenever Mini-Ika (Ika-Musume's chibi version) makes an appearance. I'd strongly recommend watching the first season and then the specials before watching this season.
Working'!! is the second season of Working!!. This season is FAR better than the first one, but I'd really recommend watching season 1 before picking this up. It's seriously hilarious and probably my favorite out of the bunch.
Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam is the second season sequel from the original Last Exile way back in 2003. I don't know how you get your anime, by steams, torrents or DDLs, or if you prefer dubs over subs or vice versa, but if you try to find episodes from the original, you'll find a mixture of subs and dubs by FUNi. Since they licensed the show for US distribution, you'll hardly find a streaming site that will have fansubs up for it. And they licensed the second season too, but that doesn't stop DDLs.
The second season has a similar setting and characters and storyline to the original, so it's not really needed to watch season 1. The CG and animation and story are better imo.
Lol. Mirai Nikki is one fucked up show, if you've ever watched or read any of the Higurashi anime or manga then this will remind you of it. There's mass slaughtering of people and some explicit romance, rape, drugs (probably) and everything else you can imagine. It's a decent show but pick it up at your own risk.
Gintama' is the continuation of Gintama. It's funny as hell.
Of course, Guilty Crown. Not my fav from this season but it has excellent music to it. Animation is good and the characters are good too. I like girl, what's-her-face in the black body suit that works the hacking and logistics with the cute dance moves to get shit done. The theme music is done mostly by Ryo from Supercell. Those girls, imo, have some of the best voices in Japan. Nagi's my fav. Look em up on Youtube and you'll see what I mean.

I don't think I can remember the last time I've seen anything over 90%. What a keeper.
Tbh, most of the interest in AB! was for the music, that's what got me really caught up in the show, and what got me interested in Japanese music in general (Iwasawa ftw, you will be remembered forever). And then the story grabbed my attention a bit. And gave me an emotional end that I loved.
