Great recommendation of Tatami and Katanagatari. Both are great.

Like I said I'll revisist it sometime when I have nothing else to watch but I couldn't stand it. Yuri Kuma is essentially the same thing but with bears and I hated it. Penguindrum felt more structured while Yuri just seem like a stagnant snore fest. I plan on watching Tatami soon since I've only seen 9s and 10/10 from harsh critics about it. Katanagatari looks pretty artsy which I'm always up for.

Well seeing that Monster is among the only 3 shows I gave a 10 it's safe to say I loved the ending. I think it's a rare case where an open ending was appropriate giving the enigma that was Johan Liebert. Very little endings left me with goosebumps like Monster has. Katanagatari and Tatami Galaxy are on my radar, however I disliked Penguindrum.. And it isn't just Penguindrum but anything made by Ikuhara seem to rub me the wrong way since I dropped Yuri Kuma Arashi. Just not my cup of tea. I might revisit his works later but I won't be rewatching those anytime soon.

Haha a man can dream. And KyoAni crushed that dream to tiny little pieces after 3 minutes T.T

I didn't have the opportunity to approach this blind. I read the Count of Monte Cristo back in high school my junior year. Even with the knowledge of how the events will unfold, the anime just reiterated why I loved the book so much. It was still engaging after so many years. I haven't watched Penguindrum yet but I've heard nothing but praise about it.
