A continueation of Dragonball. When I first watched it I was skeptical, I didn't have much faith in sequals back then. But after the first few episodes I was captivated. Whenever it came on, I would be glued to my screen, not blinking until it was over.

I'm not going to tell you that their is a amzing plot, or that the characters under go an amazing change. The plot can be written by a three year old, and the most change anyone goes through is getting a hair cut. The one, and only, thing great about this show was the action and action alone.

When you watch the fights in this show, it get's you so pumped up! Like your primal insticts are being ripped out of you and the only thing you want to do is beat the crud out of something! If you enjoy that feeling, then this is the anime for you. read more

The series is still continuing but I think that from what I have watched...people, this is a series no one can miss.

This has to be overall one of the best anime series I have ever seen. Yes, this is Romeo and Juliet but the anime has this complete entertaining twist making maybe the storyline even better than the original. Basically, Montague has taken over "Neo Verona" slaying House Capulet except its sole and only survivor Juliet who must disguise herself as a boy in order to survive. In this harsh and suffering society Juliet meets Romeo and thus the story unfolds.

This anime has all of your favorites like Mercutio, Benvolio, and even the play writer himself William Shakespeare and a cast of such depth making one question, is this really the "where are thou?" Romeo and Juliet??? I am a person who greatly judges any anime/manga by its storyline and this has to be my favorite anime I have seen this year (well, next to Paprika). I swear Romeo X Juliet will completely surprise you at its art, storyline and music which makes this series positively solid through and through.

Okay, for you people who are not into the romantic stuff cause it is Romeo and Juliet like myself, trust me there is plenty of action fighting to keep you entertained from your very own heroine (that's right Juliet's the fighter in this one) and the rest of the cast. For the haters (just kidding), there's also romantic stuff for you too.
This has to be the hidden jewel for 2007 because of what it is, a hated 9th grade final research and journal project Shakespearean play but as you can see from the previous post, the grading score needs to be boosted to at least 20 in order to barely justify the greatness of this masterpiece. read more

The end has come, the fate of the world lies in the heart of one boy whose name carries the power of God. Should he decide the world is corrupt he will become the destroyer incarnate, but should he see the goodness in man he will be its last hope.

The premise for X1999 is nothing short of BIG, over the course of the series we see heroes, villans and influential characters grow and take on lives of their own as backgrounds and motivations are unveiled. For the first time we see that the 'baddies' are just as purposeful and likeable as our 'heroes' and when some of them explain why the world should end you really believe them. The first time the two sides clash it is in a brief encounter that is more banter than battle, and the two appear to really be enjoying themselves despite the weight that rests on their shoulders.

Those of you who remember Tokyo Babylon will be shocked to see that Subaru, the happy hero of the piece, is now an pessimistic adult who needs convincing before he helps them. His coat and chain-smoking appearance is truly unsettling in comparision the the happy figure of that prelude series.

I won't spoil the plot for you, far from it - I want you to watch this series and enjoy it as much as I have. Never has there been a series so truly EPIC and envolving and you need to experience it for yourself.

Animation is typical of CLAMP style, with focus upon beautiful eyes and lythe figures. Layers of shadow and a brad palette certainly give the series that 'expensive' feel and make a visual impression. Explosions of magic and light serve to highlight the darkness of some scenes, and the strength of the style allows for interesting imagery of feathers and cogs, showing the inevitability of fate.

An orchestral score reminiscent of O'Fortuna certainly adds additional weight to the scale of events, and the finale is astounding.

I watched the whole series (all of it!) in one sitting. Not because I had the time, but because I simply couldn't stop watching. From animation to story to sound, this is an experience that is flawless. Please, please go and seek it out because nothing will prepaire you for the depth of emotion awaiting you. read more

Heroic Age, is an anime I've been searching for. It has action, wonderful story, war, Mecha, and a breathtaking soundtrack.

The storyline is similar to other animes out there. But why I like it, is because the hero is not the guy who is always caught up in annoying triangles; Like "who should I join? I am so confuse? who is the good guy? who is the bad guy?" The hero in this anime, knows his mission and knows what he is supposed to do. It's a very straight forward anime, and it always teases you at the end, making you want to watch the next episode.

I like animes with a good soundtrack, and this anime it perfect. It has this orchestra theme in every episode that always sends chills running through your spines. I also like the opening and ending theme song as well.

The character design may not interest some people, but trust me just watch this anime. You'll learn the accept it, just like me.

I like this anime, I have been watching animes since the early 90's. So I am sometimes picky when it comes to watching good animes. This anime is one of a kind.

Kannaduki no Miko can be summarized as thus: Shoujo-Ai and Giant Mechas with bits of Japanese mythology thrown in the mix for good measure. It works better than it sounds, trust me on this. I watched the series in it's entirety in a span of about one week, and you know what I did the day after watching the last episode? Began watching it again from episode one. That's how good this series is.

My reasons for liking this series so much are by no means logical ones. From a cold, ruthless, objective point of view, Kannaduki no Miko is a mindless piece of drivel with excessive fanservice, but I'm a sucker for sweet, heart-aching romantic stories, especially when the romance is between two persons of the female persuasion. The last episode makes me do the "eyes like twin waterfalls" trick (often seen used by such anime characters as Pedro of Excel Saga and Maito Gai of Naruto) every time I watch it.

The animation is, for the most part, average, but makes use of a couple of nifty tricks. The split-screen dialogue in the beginning of episode 2 always struck me as pretty cool, and the doors slamming closed in the last episode make me feel like I've been hit in the face with a bag full of anvils. The visuals are nothing out of the ordinary with the exception of the endings of the mecha battles, which are colourful to say the least. The actual fights are fluid and well-paced, if very short. People used to the multi-episode fights of animes like DBZ or Naruto might find it hard to adjust to battles that are usually over in 5 minutes or less. But mechas fighting isn't what this anime is about, it's just there to give it some seasoning.

Characters are quite often the most important part of any given story to me. While the characters of Kannaduki no Miko are not incredibly deep and multi-dimensional, nor do they go through light years worth of developement, they are all likeable and sympathetic, and that's enough for me. The three main characters are all fleshed out enough as far as their personalities go, but some questions about their past are left unanswered. Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you. Some of the supporting cast are left kinda unused, but I don't mind. There isn't enough room in 12 episodes to fully develope all of the characters, but I doubt if the series could have been longer (say, 26 episodes) without becoming unnecessarily drawn out. There's a story, they can tell it in 12 episodes, no need to prolong it.

The dialogue of the characters can be slightly cheesy and corny and other foodstuff-y, but on some level it manages to appear 'real'. Normal people don't come up with the perfect things to say, completely devoid of any cheese, in the middle of a conversation. Offering to be someone's handkerchief might seem disturbing, yucky, even ridiculous, but it's definitely something one might come up with at the spur of the moment.

The story is, as a whole, nothing new under the sun, but does contain one or two surprises (at least, it did for me, but most people seem to be better at anticipating future events than me). My knowledge of Japanese mythology is minimal, but a couple of names and events apparently have a basis in it, namely Orochi, the figurative eight-headed dragon and the main villain of the story (despite having only something like 2 or 3 lines). Every single detail of the story is not explained, like how the mechas can appear out of thin air, but I doubt if anybody could come up with a sensible explanation for that. They're, like, divine (or demonic) mechas. It's magic. Like gods. They're probably organic, or spiritual, or something. Better leave it at that.

I don't usually pay much attention to the soundtrack, unless it's really whatever is the aural counterpart of 'visible', like in Naruto, so I can't pass much judgement on the musical world of Kannaduki no Miko. But the opening and ending songs, Re-Sublimity and Agony, both performed by Kotoko, are pure awesomeness. And that's saying a lot, seeing as they're techno and I'm supposed to be a metalhead.

So what is it, in the end, that makes Kannaduki no Miko worth 5 stars, ten points out of ten, in my eyes? It's the love story. I can't help it, if the story has two (or more!) female characters with deep feelings towards each other I'm glued to my seat. Kannaduki no Miko, Maria-sama ga Miteru, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito... It's a guilty pleasure. But even if we were to remove the shoujo-ai aspect of the love story, I'd still like it. There's just something heart-warming about it.

I don't ask much from an anime series. A heart-warming love story, likeable characters, with possibly some decent action and/or humour and/or philosophical ponderings, and I'm happy. Kannaduki no Miko manages three outta five, two of them spectacularly, and that's enough for me to count it amongst my favourite animes ever. Now go watch it. Yes, even if you've watched it before. This anime is pretty old, but it's still amazing to watch. I guess the best part about this anime is Gon. He's a great choice for a main character. When I see Gon, it reminds me of my cousin. He's so wonderful, and forgiving, and just really innocent. Though he's only a year younger then me, it seems that he is so much more pure then everyone else. Gon is like that.

Away from Gon, the other charactors were well writen too. Kurapica, Leorio, and Killua were also well designed. Killua being cunning, and seemingly careless, but can become really dangerous; Leorio who's careless and sometimes lazy actually has a serious cause; Kurapica, who's always so troubled can also smile and laugh with everyone else. I feel that the characters are very well developed, and it gives the feeling that something interesting is gonna happen.

The animation was well done. Especially in the episode where Killua was holding a heart. It looked very realistic. There was suddenly a very scary side to Killua even though we already know he's an assasin. As if it was real, the heart kept on pounding too!

This is an anime that i find worth while to watch. ^^ read more

Ah, wow. This truly was an amazing anime. I doubt I could find any little thing to complain about while watching it... Except for one thing. It kept me awake watching episode after episode, and I ended up failing a math test due to lack of sleep. But, hey, that's just a testament to how great this series is.

Anyway, I'll start with the characters and their personalities.

I personally loved every single character in the anime. From the minor Daiikuji-chan to the four main characters, I enjoyed watching every one of them. Especially when combined with the absolutely beautiful and heartwarming storyline, the characters were absolutely wonderful, in almost every way.

The storyline, however, is where this anime really shines. I found myself crying for at least 3 hours, in a row. It was so amazingly dramatic and sad, yet, at the end, let everything turn out acceptably. So many scenes caused me to cry, which is a great thing. ^_^ Truly wonderful.

The opening song, is a little upbeat, but not to an extreme extent, and, although is a bit contrasting to most of the storyline, is very nice. However, the ending, and the final episode ending perfectly captured the essence of the anime with it's slow, peaceful, yet somewhat sad sounding tune. All the background music fit perfectly, further bringing out the soul and feeling of the already-dramatic storyline.

All in all, this anime was amazing in all ways... Watch it! read more

The story of a a young man becoming a soul reaper, or an arch angel in a sense, who becomes one of the protectors of a town filled with violent ghosts and vampires is every kid's dream. Truly intoxicating. The action sequences that are involved with this show call for a great amount of talent as well as hard work to contain the large scale effects that this series uses - a feat not easily reached. But Bleach pulls it off. The sheer destruction and ominous tones this series employs requires some serious attention to detail, but it is reached at a enjoyable standpoint, and is even breathtaking at points. Ichigo, a young man who stands up for what he believes in and fights the good fight to his last breath, is an inspiration to all young men. It is a must see show enjoyable for all ages.

Full Metal Alchemist is incredible; amazing story, beautiful music and brilliant characters all in a world were alchemy exists. The story is about the 2 Elric brothers trying to regain there lost bodies, but don't expect it to be this simple continue to watch as it goes deeper, darker and expect twists that will shock you. The story is the strongest point of the anime. The characters are all great, they all have different personalities some funny, some weird. Some are just so cool with there unique powers, although some are lame but hilarious, the greatest of all the characters has to be Hugh's...you'll see why.

The music like I said is beautiful, completely goes with this anime. It can really help make the scenes more emotional the music can just play in your head for hours and it's not something you'll wanna beat out of your head. Animation isn't great but not bad either but hey with an anime this great, I'd watch it in black and white. Hell, I would even watch it if they were stick men. All in all, a wonderful anime one that can be compared to many others. I wish it was longer. Action could be better, but it's still incredible. The ending to me was surprisingly sad and happy, but moreover amazing.
