When writing about Future Boy Conan, the term "timeless" comes to mind. The tale of Conan, his friends and his foes was as engaging and captivating to me, watching it in 2011 as I'm sure it was back when it first aired in 1978. It's also interesting to note that several themes that would be recurring in Miyazaki's movies show up here for the first time, including strong female characters and spectacular flight-scenes.
