When writing about Future Boy Conan, the term "timeless" comes to mind. The tale of Conan, his friends and his foes was as engaging and captivating to me, watching it in 2011 as I'm sure it was back when it first aired in 1978. It's also interesting to note that several themes that would be recurring in Miyazaki's movies show up here for the first time, including strong female characters and spectacular flight-scenes. Finally, Future Boy Conan contains just as much adventure and sense of wonder as any movie I've seen from Studio Ghibli. To put it simple, Future Boy Conan is a classic that ... fan of anime should watch at least once in their life. Highly recommended.
