Ahah! You dropped TTGL right before the awesome part. Poor you.
I originally came here to say you list design is awesome. I was just looking at other people's styles in search of inspiration (well, the CSS here IS limited, and the html structure is shit... Need to be creative.) and your list's style is remarkable. Congarts if you made them yourself.
Really? Nah, I don't think so but thanks. Yup, in SAI. Yeah, I guess it does. Though I was kinda going for that in this one, but probably me not being adjusted to drawing digitally also added to the feel. I like the cat as well! Yeah, actually that cat in the picture was drawn accordingly to my own! She's also chubby! Aww that sounds so cute! I love white cats! What's her name?
Whoa, that's pretty fast for a headshot. How long did it take you to become good with the tablet and all? Cause I'm basically a beginner in that sort of stuff so I'm seriously really bad lol.
But I really like it how you colored the whole thing, it's really neat and I don't see any mistakes! But yeah, me too.
Well, there's really few, and like none that I'm satisfied with. And all of them are non-finished lol. The only one that I sort of finished is this drawing for a birthday card I made for my friend, but it's more like in a sketch kind of style: http://i48.tinypic.com/1fzag.jpg
As you can see, I didn't really do the lineart and coloring properly, so I just decided to leave it messy, cause I was doing it like maybe an hour before the party so I just had to be very fast. So technically not even this one is finished lol
As ever, I love your art and photoshop skills. I'd like to get into photoshop myself, but have never used it, apart from one time but it kinda scared me a bit. The guy from your anime list bg is hot ;)
University is crap here too. There are just too many people going to university and not enough graduate jobs. Our last government pretty much encouraged EVERYONE to go to university, so now there's this culture of people going uni for the sake of it. A lot of grads end up doing min wage jobs or even unemployed. It's scary, but that's why I'll be trying to get experience in my field to improve my chances.
Fuck yeah, Tiger and Bunny is exactly what I needed at the moment from the anime industry. I haven't seen a "hero" anime done so well by the Japanese, and well, this just ticked all the boxes for me. The english dub has also been recently released, I'm quite impressed with the quality. I've shown my 5 year old nephew the first few episodes of it and he absolutely loves it (he never shuts up about Batman/Superman/Spiderman). He asked me "Why does he [Fire Emblem] talk funny?" referring to the girly style he was talking in and I couldn't say "He's gay" as his mum would kill me so just replied "Well, he's a special kind of person" XD I am also quite obsessed with Kotetsu. I love his character design.
I was never intending to watch Fate/Zero as from what I gathered from AMVs and art style was that it would be your typical fantasy fighting anime, however a review by gigguk managed to persuade me to try it out. Here's the vid, he's bloody hilarious:
LOL Gravitation scared you? I really liked it! I just found it funny more than anything else. I don't really get it, what was so scary about it? Yoneda Kou is good at conveying proper emotions and problems in her stories, unlike 99% of other authors where the characters are being stupid jealous at every organism that goes within a 10mm radius of their lover and even after having sex thinking stuff like "but he's a guy!" Pisses me off to no end -__-
I didn't really enjoy Junjou Romantica. In fact, I hated it. It was just so two dimensional and repetitive. Every episode was in EXACTLY the same layout:
Comedy moment at start of ep ----> Another guy and in a rare moment, a woman would talk to one of the guys -----> Jealous fit/Partner loses self-confidence/Starts thinking that their partner doesn't like them 'cause they're a man -----> Big fight/Confrontation -----> Make up sex
Coupled together with the fact that Junjou seems to think gay men all occupy the same sort of niche and how ALL the characters seem to link to each other really drove me mad at points. I was going to stay away from Sekaiichi, it being by the same author and all, but decided to try it.....and it was actually good. I really liked it. I didn't like how they had to have 3 couples again like in Junjou, but the main couple actually had a decent story.
I agree with your points on My Little Monster, though there are some clichés in it such as Haru being amazingly smart without studying and whatnot, it certainly is quite charming with good characters. Haru and Shizuku are just so cute; they've pretty much professed their love for each other from the beginning though. Wait, there's a new love interest...who? Is it Haru's big bro?
Thanks a lot, I went through it roughly, seems like a really good technique, I'll try it!
Mmm I see, thanks for the tips, really! Yeah, I get what you're saying, I'm sometimes troubles by the same things. My technical drawings (by pencil) are much better than my digital ones (in anime style), both in turns of shading and anatomy and everything. I should probably just practice more on tablet, I dunno. But it's so tiring, to complete one character lasts hours for me.
How much does it usually take you to finish a digital artwork? Such as your avatar here
I'm good. I'm on a gap year atm, so just been working as a waitress and studying for my resits in Jan. I'm applying for uni this year too so it's quite a scary process for me. But I've got more disposable time for anime now, so just been watching quite a few series recently (including Sekaiichi Hatsuoki but don't judge me :3).
Ahh how are you finding Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun? I love the female lead, she's quite honest :P
I'm jelly. I'm not proficient enough with digital drawing yet to be able to be like completely natural with it. Mmm here's one drawn with a pencil, not a manga though: http://pikachumastah.tumblr.com/post/19057722425
Oh cool, I use CS5 and SAI so basically the same. But I'm such a n00b lol, I'm so frustrated that I don't know how to properly do some stuff there that I see other people do, and I have nobody to show me (in person I mean). I've tried watching a couple tutorials online but they were ether badly explained or I was just too lazy and impatient. If you know some good ones, do share! :D
Oh that's awesome! Yeah, but I rarely do things on my tablet, I'm too lazy. I mostly just draw with a pencil. But I haven't drawn anything decent like since forever.
I really like your coloring though! I've never been very good at it. Which programs do you use?
Hey, it's been a while huh :P Hope you still remember me. As I am on a gap year now I have quite a bit of disposable time on my hands to spend on the medium, so you should be seeing me frequent MAL more often now :)
thx for the reply.
I draw sometimes too but I'm at Noob level, but nevertheless I like looking at my drawings afterwards. I'm just always amazed when I look at drawings like yours, they're amazing.
Mh, we really have diametrically opposite views on Hakuouki. =D
What I love is the animated version (Hekketsuroku more than SK). On the other hand, I dislike the concept of the game. And the OVAs tasted mediocre to me.
Nevertheless, I'm sure our tastes meet in other places. I want to believe in MAL's matching system : )
