Britannia declared a war on Japan and conquer it. A Britannian youth, Lelouch gain a power known as Geass, allow him to give an absolute order to anyone. Lelouch decided to destroy Britannia ruled by his father using Geass as weapon. His goals are to take a revenge for his mother, and create a better world for Nunnally (imouto) to live in peace.

So, you haven't watch code geass yet. Then, you should watch it! Of course at first I don't know what's the story about but my friend keep recommending me (just like you). Similar to death note. I just finished it this morning and I think that's the best anime I watched so far
Ecchi? You got me. No, just kidding. I like fanservice, but not ecchi. Showing panties on purpose, unattractive main character (some pervert), and moreover, the storyline is usually bad. Except if it's just side genre ;) (in my list, I just try too watch them, but not satisfied)
I've watched watched fairy tail until the moment before 7 years later. It's a mainstream anime, not justice what I meant. Btw, I like it too^^ (despite putting it on-hold)
