It may not be a quote directly cited from the series, but it is one of the things this series has taught me. This show was great from start to end, and despite knowing some spoilers beforehand, it still delivered to a 10 out of 10 rating - something that's not usually happening for a shonen anime because they tend to overuse a certain trope.
To kick off, I have been fairly reluctant to watch Fullmetal
...
Alchemist: Brotherhood, because I have already seen the first series before the remake happened, and I was afraid that half of the anime would be the same as season 1, but since I heard it had rave reviews, I have put it in the corner of my plan to watch list anyway. Some long time after that, I heard the threat that many anime sites are going to be shut down, and I panicked by mass-watching anime and reading manga. Fullmetal Alchemist was one of the anime I started to watch during that period.
The story was admittedly a little predictable. But that might have been because I saw the first season, and a few spoilers on what happens ahead, or it might have not been. Despite the fair predictability, the anime has still delivered a great dose of tension, drama, fun, light-hearted moments to not make me burst out in tears from the heavy dramatic ones, and also action - thus I believe majority of the viewers would enjoy. If anyone is discouraged by the 64 episodes, just start slowly, you'll notice it will consume you in no time, because this anime is one of the few that are neither rushed or way too slow-paced.
Some people say D.Gray-man sneaks around seinen territory, but not nearly as much as this anime. The plot gets into a fairly dark theme at times, sometimes even gets slightly into political matters... and the art matches it well. The colors are not very vibrant, which might have taken a toll on the character designs - then again, this toll has made the characters even more believable and gave distinctive features to them and their descendants.
The soundtrack matches the mood of the anime in all possible moments. Violin is used for several melodies of the soundtrack, which make a perfect match for the dark theme of the anime. As for the openings and endings, they consist of catchy songs, which serve as a great introduction/outro of the episodes. I also have no remarks to the seiyuus, as they did a fairly well job to match the characters' profile.
With matching art and matching voice actors, it is possible to admit the fact that the profile of the characters is constructed to be fairly believable - they have their ups and downs, and it is possible to tell where the characters "got that attitude from". Their reactions are also believable; they do not overreact as much as it happens on other anime of this genre. I would cite a few examples, but I'd prefer to avoid any spoilers so you see that for yourself.
With all that overall, Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood was a very captivating and enjoyable show, captivating me enough to take much breaks than most anime I have watched. I believe the masterpiece rating is indeed deserved for this one, although I wouldn't quite recommend it for starting audiences, as it would make their expectations of other anime series too high... then again I'm just kidding! You probably won't regret watching this one whatever audience you are from, but I can't tell you that for sure - you'll have to see for yourself.

HELLO and WELCOME to "HOW TO RUIN AN ANIME 101". In today's episode, let's discuss how to ruin an anime called "pupa".
First off, let's delay the series for one whole line up! People are expecting something non-moe and unique to change the pace, no? That's why it's a GREAT idea to make them wait 3 more months! It will make them confused and wonder why?
Done? Good. Next step is to shorten the length of the anime. 23 minutes? Pfff. 4 minutes is the hit! You say this is for gag animes only and not for deep anime? WELL WE DO NOT CARE as our

goal is to destroy the anime as much as possible.
What else is left? Let's put the plot so confusingly no one will get it and all it will be about is "onii-chan, onii-chan" and gore. PERFECT. Viola~ A perfectly ruined anime.

Now that you heard out some kind of satyric joke attempt of me... let's get to the point.
pupa is the sole anime I would legitimately label "trainwreck" just because of how butchered it was. It is so bad yet I just can't stop watching it...just to see how bad it gets.
Why?
If my satyric joke hasn't hinted it to you yet, it's because of what was originally expected from the anime and what it became. I'm not even a type to give in to premises and expectations and rate anime low if they aren't met, but pupa is a dissapointment even with just having the basic ones.
The anime was delayed for a season for the purpose of IMPROVING. If THIS is what I get for waiting a season, then I'd rather get each anime one season early so they're worsened to the better.When there's a delay, some nifty animation or sound is expected; however, there was no animation that was out of the ordinary; sound was good but I think it didn't need the necessity of one whole season either. If it was budget reasons, then Pupa should have waited a while longer before aiming for an anime, or should have indefinitely postponed the whole thing to make it look somewhat decent, even if not worth the wait
More than the delay, which can be so simply forgiven and tossed aside, the length of the episode turned out to be completely unsuitable to the genre. Pupa was probably supposed to be a deep anime with much thinking, peering inside the characters, more exciting moments... but ended up bringing in just the gore and the "onii-chan" as if to make the anime bad on purpose. I don't know what happened there at Studio DEEN but I'm not liking it at all.
Maybe induced by the length, maybe not quite, the story is trimmed down just to the key-elements - in fact, I'm not sure if they even are key; and many of the matters miss an explanation in time. The characters remain anonymous from the inside, and become rather insignificant. The length doesn't provide enough depth to give any of the inside matters of the characters more than a mention. It's like a extended summary of osmething people might have seen, but it's something new...so it's unacceptable.
I really can't see away for this to be anyhow enjoyable, apologies for those who do... Only if you like just gore, or watch it ironically with a group of friends that then go biting in some meat going "onii-chan" with squeaky voices.

Now before you shoot me for rating it low...hear my reasoning. This is intended for people who haven't seen it, it's my advice whether to watch it or not waste time watching it. It's ok if you liked it more than I, it's ok if you hated it more than I. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Here goes mine:

For a duration of 1hr 40 seconds, majority of this movie is a recap. The extra footage you might want to see is like, 20 minutes of end the show. Other than that it's mostly fanservice pieces and recapitulation of the previous season of Sword Art Online.
In my opinion, it's kind of a waste of time to waste 1hr 20 mins on flashbacks. But hey, Season 2 of Sword Art Online is airing soon, so maybe it's the right time to reminiscence and nostalgizise. Might just ring your nostalgic wibes in the right moment
The last 20 minutes or so are extra footage. To avoid spoilers, I will just say: It was very inspiring. As someone who likes playing some MMORPGs and would like to make a MMORPG someday in the future (hopefully) I was all like "why are we not funding this" because none of the MMORPGs i played so far have stuff even remotely as awesome like this. Just that very aspect was what I really liked about the movie.
As the series, this movie feels like something to please younger audiences in pre/early-teenage years, judging by the plot development and depth. It's in no way hard to understand and feels simple - doesn't make one think too deep about it. Of course, it can also please audiences that would prefer action and don't like to think too deep about what happens in the anime. The plot piece in this anime is fairly simple and easy. It's really light-hearted, so if you are looking for something like that, shoot for Sword Art Online : Extra Edition! Of course, after Sword Art Online the series, that is.

So - I admit I don´t read much manga, but I´m translating one series by this mangaka, Pandora Hearts. And I browsed around and found Crimson Shell. As I saw it has only 6 chapters, I decided "why not read it?" In the end, the length was the thing that made this series lose a point because it was outstanding.
Story - 9
The story was shockingly outstanding right from the beginning. It was exciting from the start and in the ends it had breath-taking situations which is a great +. Yet after finishing the last chapter I was like "why is this not any longer?"

Art - 10
Was outstanding, well-developed at the start and at the end too. It was all-clear, and the whole manga had a bit of a dark-styled feel which I really like. (I wish there would be an OVA for this.)
Character - 9
The point goes down because of the length, again. They seemed awesomly developed, but there weren´t enough chapters to know them well enough.
Enjoyment - 10
As I said, this manga was exciting from the start and even got into the breath-taking zone in the end. So a 10 without any doubts
Overall - 9 - Should definetly be longer. But definetly was amazing!!!
