Just another broke college student ^_^. I have a huge passion for anime and manga and I'm continually trying to find and learn more about it. I'm the head of the anime committee for a big club at my college. I also help organize a con that we hold at my college called NerdaCon. I'm now the resident anime nerd and the Yuri expert. I'm a huge fan of yuri and shoujo-ai and have a pretty good collection of it. Overall, I'm pretty much a complete nerd.
For all those Nosey Nancys
About myself hmm, well I guess I can start with some basic features:
Height: Average for a female, around 5’7
Hair: Shoulder length, chestnut brown w/ a small stripe of grey (and yes, it’s natural…unfortunately)
Eyes: between green and hazel (depending on the light)
Skin: Caucasian (which means I’m really really pale)
Other stats:
Political views: none, as long as I can avoid it
Religious views: Meh (I’m pretty much a ‘to each their own’ as long as you’re not biting the head off a chicken to wish someone good luck type)
Sexuality: Lesbian (got a problem with that?)
I usually say/write that there isn’t much to me since I see myself as pretty simplistic, but I’ll give it a go.
I’m currently a university student in my final year. I’m one of the idiots who’s getting a degree where I’ll be living in a cardboard box when I graduate, but at least I’ll be a happy idiot ^^. I’ll be getting a Professional Writing degree in 2011, and I do hope that I’ll be able to write my own stories and publish them in time.
As for personality I’m pretty easy going until something riles me up. I try to be kind and considerate of others (except idiots or bullies), but I tend to be somewhat snarky, very sarcastic and rather blunt.
I’m very tomboyish in both attitude and looks but I’m not, as one of my colleges put it, a “Van Diesel Dyke”, I still have feminine qualities ^^.
At times I can be charming, but I love to tease my friends endlessly. I’m pretty distant, almost cold, to people I don’t know but I usually thaw out when given time. I adore the friends I have and would do almost anything for them (well, mostly).
I’ve always had a huge passion for the written word and so I’m always reading something, whether it be a novel or a manga. My favorite genres are fantasy and humor, but I like trying out different kinds now and then. I love storytelling overall which is why I want to be a writer (in one way or another). I tend to create my own stories but lately I’ve been experimenting with fanfiction (which is harder in my opinion), and I like to write reviews on anime and manga.
As for anime and manga, I started watching anime when I was young but stopped when I reached high school. My first anime was Sailor Moon, after that I was hooked. Unfortunately I quite because I thought anime was ‘for children’ but I still held a secret passion for it. When I reached college I was forced (sort of) into reading a manga for the first time. I was easily drawn back into watching anime after that and rebuffed my previous beliefs on the subject.
Enough talking (er, writing), time for favorites.

Oh, I will not be accepting friend requests from strangers. If you want to befriend me then you're actually going to have to get to know me and for me to get to know you. Tough I know, but that's just how I roll ^_^.
All you'd have to do is drop me a line and chat with me sometime. (now that wouldn't be that hard would it? ^^)
My replies have also been getting delayed lately. ^^'
Friendly discussions are more appealing than heated arguments and yet people seem to gravitate and get addicted to the latter. Is humanity really geared towards conflict? Then again, maybe humans simply seek stimuli to relieve boredom. ~,~'
I've been alright; up and down the past couple months. Nothing major, just get in some few-day ruts, and/or feel lonely. Busy's good, but I hope you've still had some time to relax!
Have you still not finished Mai-HiME yet? : p
Same here! Not sure if you'd like it or not, but Natsume Yuujin Chou and all its subsequent seasons are good. Laid back, but at times a little suspenseful, because of the spirit-centric story.
Kinda. Finally finished Persona 3 Portable sometime last month, I think. Been only gaming here and there, since.
Haven't watched either of those. I'm assuming you thought they're very good, since you want to buy them? Lol.
Ah, the "Doesn't make sense" remark was about that it seemed as if everyone's friendlist was wiped, hah. Chihayafuru is about karuta, a traditional Japanese card game.
Nah, it's alright; don't worry about it. I'm glad you always find a way!
= /
It is! Except for the complete lack of cutscenes. -__- True, true. Except for games where you can only do things on a second or third playthrough. : p
I'm always up for more yuri! I'll check it out as well. : p Have you started watching it yet? You've never heard of Chihayafuru? =O The first season aired last year. I personally love it.
People's schedules can be sporadic. ^^' (It would be tragic if your hobbies had too much of a way of keeping you away from real life!)
We share the same "safety" sentiment on politics and religion indeed. :) I guess I'm a bit envious of how people can be so passionate about conjectures (and I'm not being sarcastic here). I avoid sarcasm in the internet since there are no cues from body language.
With books, I tended to hover between sci-fi and fantasy. With anime, I developed a taste for romantic comedies and slice-of-life's. With manga, it was the gourmet genre.
I've only seen a few episodes of Sailor Moon (though I did complete the Sailor Stars arc). Most of what I know come from old fan fiction back when the internet was more into ftp than http. ^,^
At least you were satisfied by it! I had to Google who Jennifer Hale is, hah.
My condolences. =/ Did the vet give an estimate as to how much time she might have left?
Persona 3 Portable, mainly. A little of .hack//Outbreak (for the fourth time, I believe) and some DMC, but it's been awhile since I've played any of that, hah. And, as usual, Black Ops' Zombies.
What anime did you get?
I'm pretty much just watching Chihayafuru 2 and Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT.
Monotony's not good. =O Of course; you're most welcome. And thank you, as well. How're things besides work?
Other than still being unemployed, I'm rather well. Bumming around, mainly, but I've finally started really gaming again. Re-watching some anime series (favorites and those I haven't watched in awhile). Currently re-watching Madlax.
Wow! Someone with the same sentiments about avoiding political and religious discussions. I once had an uncle once who liked that stuff. It's a bit sad how firm I was in my stance. I told him that we could talk about all other topics except those two. ~,~
I was a bookworm in grade school and the school library was a second home to me. In high school, I wasn't as much, but I would buy a book, something about programming or a fantasy novel, once or twice a month with what I save from my meager weekly allowance.
I've given away most of those novels as gifts. The computer books are now obsolete. Sigh.
Fan fiction was what introduced me to manga. I read gigabytes of it for almost half a decade. Hmm, I should make a list of my favorites. (I hope I remember.) Undocumented Features was one of the few that wasn't based on Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2, or Tenchi Muyo in the mid-1990s.
Our interests might not necessarily intersect, but I think I can grow as person if I continue corresponding with you. I can't promise the same would be true the other way around since I tend to be boring and tangential. ^,^'
PTO sounds pretty damn good to me, haha. Yes, I'd agree that respites are welcome. Especially when it results in extra sleep. : p
Those are very good lines as well. Kind of more meaningful, or at least more sentimental, than the two I listed, hah.
Yes, strong plot/story is a must for me, unless there are strong characters that make up for a mediocre one.
Surprising? In a sense, I suppose. Didn't really expect it one way or the other. : p
I have favorites, but I haven't even seen that many Bond films. >< GoldenEye is probably my favorite. But I also like You Only Live Twice and Tomorrow Never Dies quite a bit, as well. I still haven't seen Russia With Love. >_>
True that. Often, as it turns out (for me, anyway) resolving internal stuff also helps deal with the external things too, hah. Which is logical, I suppose.
On that point, if you ever want to talk about something, you can PM me whenever. I know you're not online all the time, but if you are and something's bothering you, I'll certainly listen and respond.
Co-workers and a job itself would be pretty stressful, I'd assume. Glad you're visiting friends more often!
Hopefully she does start in on toys. For your hands' sake, at least.
"Here's looking at you, kid." "I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship." The only two I can think of. : p
I'm just sort of biased. I usually don't like watching comedies if humor is the main purpose, or the sole element.
Hm, I'll check that out, then. Thanks for the heads-up.
You like action films? Awesome, haha. Bond is a very appealing character, haha. What are your favorite films?
Why thank you. ^_^ Not a lot, in a sense. Not a whole lot of external shit, anyway. Just coming to terms with some internal stuff. Like trying to let shit go, or not take everything so damn personally, haha.
Any other changes with you? (If so, I hope they're positive.)
