No problem, I just thought you may like some of them. :)

I listen to podcasts once in a blue moon but they are also handy when doing something else or to put on the phone and listen to them on the go.

I might look int those two when I am looking for something to read next, thanks for the heads up.

I don't know how the original Japanese version was supposed to be taken seriously as the plot of each episode is just ridiculous but as a comedy it is gold.

Even though I love Himouto! Umara-chan I don't really care for the dub, in that I find her to be a bit annoying.

I have just finished binging Yakitate! Japan which is a really funny show about a youngbaker trying to create a signature bread for Japan in the same vain as French bread.
The fan subs are way betterthan the official subs as they explain the pun heavy dialogue with annotations rather than just cover it with new jokes.
Now that it is done I have just started with Food Wars, it seems good so far.

Mello was a psycho, how could someone as switched on as L not have picked this up and how was he ever considered for L's successor?
Near was pretty much just a watered version of L, and I was a little dissapointed that Light was caught due to a mistake by one of his subordinates instead of really good detective work.
In saying all of that I did enjoy the series for what it was, for the most part it was a cleverly written anime.

Thank you for putting me onto Shirobako, I am going to pu it on my PTW list as it sounds quite interesting.

I did start reading the manga for Devil is a Part-Timer as it will most likely never get a second season, It seems to have been adapted to the letter so far and it goes well beyond the end of the anime so I am very interested in seeing where it goes from here.

As for books lately I just listen to the audiobook versions because then I can multitask.
I recently listened to The Death of WCW which is a non fiction book about a wrestling company and what they did to go from a blip on the radar to the biggest thing in the industry and then ran themselves out of business in the span of less than 5 years, but unless you are interested in wrestling it probably isn't for you, although I have heard of a couple of non wrestling fans who enjoyed it.
I also listened to the first five novels in the Kay Scarpetta series of novels by Patricia Cornwell.
These are fiction and they are about a chief medical examiner who assists the police in solving murders, there are 21 or 22 books in the series and it has been going since the 90s.
I quite enjoy them in case that didn't come across. :)
And last but certainly not least, I re-listened to IT by Stephen king.
It is my favorite book and I either re-read or re-listen to it every now and then.
Have you been reading much lately?

Have you seen Gakkou no Kaidan or Ghost stories in English, I was told to ignore the Japanese version as it isn't very good and instead go for the dubbed version.
The japanese version didn't do very well and isn't considered very good but because of this the dub team was given free reign over the script during localization changing the serious tone into a very comedic one.
I am two episodes in with a friend of mine and so far it is hilarious.

Also have you ever seen Mad Bull 34?
It certainly isn't for everyone but I will mention it anyway.
The rating on here for it is atrocious and rightfully so but I have never seen a better example of so bad it's good in anime.
It has sex, over the top violence, a ridiculously crazy interpretation of America, silly plots and a British voice voice cast pretending to be American that slowly becomes more British over the course of the 4 episodes.
If any of that sounds vaguely interesting I would highly recommend the English dub.

Something else that I have recently started watching is Himouto! Umaru-chan and I am really enjoying it, if you want something breezy and lighthearted I would read the synopsis and see if it something that you might like.
I love how the main character switches art styles.

sorry to bombard you with recommendations. :)

Yeah it was a nice change from what I was expecting the shows tone to be, dark fantasy could be good but I don't see much of it, not to say that it isn't out there but I haven't seen much.

I still haven't started season 3 of Durarara!! but I agree the characters are cool, I have been told that Baccano is worth watching so I will probably check it out at some point.

We finished watching Death Note last night actually, I really like the series and was really surprised to hear in the final episode that the shows timeline spanned 6 years, I thought it was like a year tops. :P
I can see why it is so well liked although while still very good I think it took a slight downturn when L died.

I still haven't picked Gintama back up yet as I watched the Devil is a Part-Timer and New Game! recently instead, have you seen either show?
I am going to give it a proper chance though, as I've heard it really gets good after a while.

They must have had a high budget to get the artists to put in that much work, Miyazaki was who came to mind when I was watching also.
Yeah what Bondrewd did to Nanachi and Mitty was messed up, I hope Reg blasts him with the incinerator.
It was very sad watching Reg have to put Mitty out of her misery, I wanted to give Nanachi a hug. :(

I have not seen Kino's Journey but the ratings are high for the 2003 version so I may have to check it out at some point.

I have only just jumped into anime full on after years of dabbling, so this is the first season that I have really checked out as it was ongoing.
Aside from the 4 currently airing shows that I listed I have been watching some older stuff lately, I recently finished watching all 3 seasons of Working!! as well as the spinoff www.Working.
I liked Working!! enough to put it on my top 10 list but I didn't really like the spinoff.
I also finished watching Durarara!! season 1 and despite a slow first half I liked it so I have moved on to season 2.
I watched season 1 of Little Busters and thought it was OK but I have not yet started on season 2 although it is supposed to be even better.
I have just started watching Kinnikuman even though only 70 of 137 eps have been subbed and are very slow to release, as a wrestler myself I am a sucker for anything wrestling related so I have been meaning to watch for years but I was waiting until a decent amount of eps were subbed.
Me and a non anime watching friend are slowly making our way through Death Note and he is actually enjoying it, we only have 7 eps left to go.
And I just watched the first 2 eps of Gintama which I didn't mind.

Have you seen any of these?
theshanesaw Nov 7, 2017 2:28 AM
Howdy, No problem. :)

I watched the latest episode today so I'm caught up, I hope Chise doesn't turn into the typical damsel in distress character and actually develops into a strong character in her own right.
I agree with you about the music and animation, they are both very good so far.

Speaking of great animation, I think the animation in Made in Abyss was some of if not the best I have ever seen in a series up to this point, it is so detailed at times you could mistake it for a high budget movie.
As for the show itself I fell in love with Reg, Riko and Nanachi as soon as I saw them, I hate Ouzen though and I want her to fall into the abyss. haha
I really hope the anime is successful enough to prompt the manga creator to up the pace with his releases so they can adapt more seasons.
The production company has stated that they are keen to make more and I heard that if they were to adapt the remaining manga they might be able to get a season 2 out next year but here's hoping more manga arrives soon.

This season I am watching:
Inuyashiki
Dragon Ball Super
and Blend S

are you watching or planning to watch anything else from this season?
theshanesaw Nov 6, 2017 3:07 AM
Thank you for accepting my friend request, How are you?

How are you liking Mahoutsukai no Yome so far?
I still haven't seen the latest ep but I am liking the show.
mc093 Mar 31, 2014 10:41 PM
He did have a pretty cool mustache.

Her POV's werent my favourites either. But they were far from the worst. I never really got into the Iron born chapters unless they involved Reek.

There was something special about Harry Potter. I'm not sure if it's one of my favourite books but every time when a new book came out and everyone started reading it just made it so much more. I really enjoy Brandon Sanderson's works. Especially his Way of the Kings series. :)
mc093 Mar 31, 2014 2:36 AM
Yep.

Little finger? I hate him so much! I think he’s my most despised character. I do admit that he does have a chance though. I like all of Dany's companions, Ser Bastian, Vary's and so forth. And at first I didn't mind her in the first few books. But she's become to self righteous.

Yep! I enjoy both too. I mostly read fantasy or crime. Ooh! Good Omens looks good! Although I haven’t read any of pratchett’s works, I do love Neil Gaiman! I’m actually part way through reading American gods, funnily enough. Do you have a favourite Author?
mc093 Mar 29, 2014 8:14 PM
Mhm!

I really want Arya to head back to Westros! She's my favorite female character. :) It's hard to choose. But if I could only pick one it'd be Tyrion. I really enjoyed his character development. Who do you want to win?
Do you read much?

Yep! T'was very epic. Everything one could have hoped for. All of it was pretty much gif worthy.

mc093 Mar 28, 2014 9:59 PM
Yep! Have you read? I’m really excited for Oberyn Martells part. I know a lot of people hyped up the red wedding but for me (at least from the books) is my most anticipated moment to come. Do you have a favourite character?

That makes sense.
mc093 Mar 28, 2014 4:51 AM
Mhm! He managed to capture heaps of emotion. I really liked his last line, "Once there was only dark. If you ask me, the light is winning."

Ah, okay. I don’t really watch much western shows. Though I’m really excited for the new season Game of Thrones. :D

I'm not much of a manga reader but everything I've read I've enjoyed. So I don’t know why I don’t read more. Anime wise I've been keeping up with Kill la Kill (though I haven't watched the last ep yet) and been marathoning through monogatari s2.

Do you plan on watching Muishishi weekly or marathoning at the end?
mc093 Mar 27, 2014 9:14 PM
Ace! < *insert aussie slang that i've never heard of here*
Just nothing that interested you?

Wow, I didn't know that it was starting so soon.

I just finished watching it for the first time last night! I haven't been as hooked to a tv series like this in a long time. Rust is freakin' sweet, who'd thought Mcconaughey had it in him. :D
mc093 Mar 26, 2014 9:51 PM
From Australia and a Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei DP. Very cool. It's almost as if you were me! :o

Have you been watching much anime lately? :)
