I LOVE shoujo-ai and yuri. I mostly watch/read those kinds of anime/manga (as you can see on my anime/manga list).
I score anime fairly easy.
10 - awesome, it touched my heart, loved it so much, plot really interested me.
9 - good, some things didn't get to me but it was worth the time.
8 - meh, so-so.
7 and below - awful, uninteresting, it wasted my time. I will almost never rate something this low because I wouldn't watch an anime that deserve's a a low rating. I usually look into what I watch, and make sure its something I would enjoy. Another reason is because the anime started out okay, but starts to get disappointing. Some anime are really difficult to score. Lets say I couldn't decide to score an anime with either an 8 or 9; maybe an 8.7. I then decide if it's worth rounding up to a 9 or stay at 8.
For Manga:
10 - AWESOME-LOVE IT
9 - Pretty good
8/7 - Not that good, but okay
6 and below - bleh. Some of my ratings differ since most of them are on-going and I score them on how I like the manga so far. If a new chapter doesn't come out for more than 6 months from when I read up to, I either decrease the score by 1, drop it if it doesn't interest me anymore,or I leave it alone.
