Why don't you have a favorites list? I was going to send you a friend request bc you seem cool and we have a +30% affinity but I usually like to see a person's favorites before I do so (I only really become 'friends' with someone on this site to use the 'Added By Your Friends Tab')

Thanks that does seem like an interesting manga, I've added it to my PTR. But I don't really read scanlations very often because I prefer having a hard copy and reading manga like that so I can't promise I'll get to it anytime soon. I still have a bunch of manga (and comics) lying around here at home that I want to give priority to. Punpun, Lone Wolf and cub, Gundam Origins, Billy Bat, A Drifting Life etc...
If Bokkou had an anime adaption that'd be the kind of stuff I'd LOVE to watch tho. I really enjoy battle strategy stuff like that.

Yeah I don't agree, people are just overrating manga more than anime because they consume less of it so they aren't as critical. I'd pick an anime over its source material 9 out of 10 times and that's only talking about manga good enough to get an adaption, not all the random ones that get cancelled after a few months or a year and never gain any kind of traction. Sure, there are some types of stories you'll only find in manga and not anime because it is a much larger medium, but the ones that get turned into anime are generally among the best of their kind who survived while tons of others got cancelled.

yeah but that doesn't change the fact that manga on MAL still have a way higher average score than anime and a LOT less people to make the statistics viable. I thought we were talking about MAL scores and not the storytelling potential of the medium because those are two different things.

I just looked up bunch of JoJo threads in Japan.

It looks like part 6 is getting lots of criticism.
As you said, part 3 and 5 seem to have very solid fans.
Other than 3 and 5, part 2 and 7 are somewhat liked among the fans.

That’s how I felt when after reading bunch of threads.

I live in US now, so this is the reason that I use mal. Also, mal has better features than Japanese sites.

This would be very sad response for you…
I don’t follow manga/anime from Shounen Jump.
And, people who follow Shounen Jump is totally separate group from people who follow other stuff.
There’s huge divide between shounen Jump manga follower and other otaku…
Most of the people I hang out don’t follow it, so I honestly don’t know.
But, I have few friends who follow JoJo.
I can ask them about whole fandom.
