Finally a great Resident Evil movie, it's about time.

I saw this in the video store and decided to check it out. I've waited so long for a good Resident Evil movie. The first one was decent but nothing special. The second was really bad, and the third could have been good but ended up being terrible.

It wasn't until Capcom decided to make their own movie, animated through CGI that we got a good RE movie. The story is a hell of a lot better than the life action movie following some terrorist releasing the T-Virus, and corporate espionage.

The main characters are Leon and Claire from Resident Evil 2. The are clearly brought to life through CGI. Along with other great characters you end up caring for. The voice acting is really well done, a excellent job.

The CGI is breathtaking and is truly life like.

Overall skip the bad fake Resident Evil movies and see the real life one, that you'll love whether you're a fan of the games or not.

When this series first came out I didn't pay any attention to it. About two months ago my older brother bought the box set and he loved it and a week ago he let me borrow it. The anime is loosely based off the comic which I read and really liked. Still I wasn't expecting to much from the series but I was wrong.

The story was very good. Focusing on the mother( Masane) and daughter(Rihoko) relationship. The Witchblade plays a secondary role in the anime which I thought was good. The two problems with the story was the back story of the blade which they never even hinted at. The biggest problem though was the ending. It was plain terrible, you can tell it was rushed. I know there are many reasons a anime series ends to soon. From being unpopular to running out of money, but they could have at least tried to make a coherent ending. They should have extended it to 26 episodes that would have been more than enough time to give a ending to the series.

Perhaps the best part of the series were the characters. Masane and Rihoko were great as mother and daughter. They brought the emotion to the series and you end up really caring for them. The other characters from Reiji, Hiroki, Shiori and the rest all add something to the series.

The animation done by GONZO was brilliant, but what do expect from one of the best anime studios. The music was also outstanding.

Overall a great anime worth watching, but prepare to be a little let down with the ending. read more

I tried, I really tried to make it through this series. I really don't like dropping anime series when I am this close to the end. Sadly I just couldn't take it anymore.

This one was a mediocre to bad romance/comedy anime series. The characters were uninteresting and on some levels very annoying. I kept waiting for the series to go some where. I know romance anime sometimes start off slow like Love Hina, Onegai Teacher, Suzuka and others, but this one went no where. The animation done by Gonzo and AIC was the best part of the series. What Gonzo gets involved in is good, but even they couldn't save this series. The music was also decent but nothing special.

Overall another average to bad romance/comedy anime series. read more

I've like or loved everything Macross/Robotech. I grew up in the early mid 80s watching the Robotech series. I've seen all the Macross series from the original to Macross II, Macross Plus and Macross 7. So I had pretty high expectations going in. On some parts my expectations were met, but on others they weren't.

The story was very good. Taking place after the war with the Zentradi who they now coexist with. The plot started off really good with the appearance of a mysterious race called the Vajra. Sadly though the story/plot slowly goes down hill from there. The problem could be there weren't really interesting characters, but I'll get that in a moment. The climax story was a total mess and didn't make any sense. The Vajra turned out to be almost pointless to the story. The ending was just a plan let down.

The characters were the worst part of the series. You or at least for me won't care for almost any of the characters. Alto was decent, but he came off as boring, he just had no back story or charisma. Ranka for some reason just got on my nerves. She wasn't much of a lead character. There were only a few I liked. Sheryl who was great character with a real story shouldn't have wasted her time on Alto. Also Michael who seemed to be the only real man in this anime. He had a great ending which I loved.

The animation by Satelight was brilliant. One of the best things about the anime. The way the animated everything from the characters to the battles were great.

The music as usual for a Robotech/Macross series was amazing. I even downloaded the soundtrack.

Sadly this series just didn't live up to my expectations. Was it still a good series.. yes just not on the level of Robotech, Macross, Macross Plus or Macross II. read more

Was a good anime, but had the potential to be great.
The story takes place in a parallel earth that looks like Europe in the 20s and 30s. A cease fire has ended between Royal Empire and the Republic of Frost. Three years later the Empire is still plagued by problems from the war, soldiers becoming mercanieries, starvation, and disease. To help solve the problems the Empire sets up Imperial Army Section III nicknamed Pumpkin Scissors. Led by 2nd Lieutenant Alice L. Malvin and a special forces soldier Randel Oland set out to change the empire.

Almost everything about this anime was great. The story wasn't original, but had a good twist to the usual stuff. The characters were interesting. The animation was done by Gonzo, and was great. The music was ok. Now you're asking why if I thought it was great, why did I just give it 7. That's because it's story was to broad and ended to soon. It was a 24 episode anime, but the story could have covered 48 episodes. The story was really open ended even for anime, the characters had some developments, but should have gone deeper. I am really hopping there will be another season. read more

Not like other end of the world anime.
First off I tend to not like short 12 to 13 episode anime. They tend to be bad anime with bad stories and un-interesting characters. So I was pleasantly surprised with Saikano.

Saikano is a end off the world anime. Very much different than Evangelion and Rahxephon. Unlike those end off the world who have a broad story and confusing endings Saikano is straight to the point. It doesn't have a broad story with giant mecha, and unknown beings. It concentrates on characters and story. When it comes down to it, it's a tragic love story with meaning. I think it has meaning today. War resolves nothing, and only the leaders are the winners, if we don't stop then endless fighting we'll bring a end to our world.

Saikano is truly great anime that doesn't get enough love a tragic love story that will make you cry almost throughout the entire series. It's also a anime with meaning that everyone needs to see. read more

If you like anime with no real story and girls with big cleavage, this is for you.
Godannar is unoriginal and nothing new. First the plot could have been very good had they taken the anime more seriously. Instead the creators turned it into another romantic comedy, with giant robots, and girls with large cleavage. Don't get me wrong I like looking at girls with large cleavage, but at least give me a decent story and some good action. I can get large cleavage from a hentai or porn. Again to the story which had no urgency, and made me not care about any of the characters. Who by the were paper cut out characters which I didn't care whether they lived or die.

Now don't get me wrong this is now way the worst anime I've seen, but it is bad. read more

Not a very good anime.

E's Otherwise is a below average anime.

In the near future, following a war, corporations have come into control of the world. Ashurum is one such coorporation, specializing in handling a new class of psychics that have arisen. Feared by the general population, they have a home at Ashurum, where they develop their abilities and work for Ashurum in helping other psychics or dealing with those who've become a threat.

The story revolves around one such psychics named Kai Kudou, who lived in Ashurum all his life with his sister who is sick. He joins AESES, the operation branch of Ashurum in gratitude for helping his sister. In doing so he comes to discover the real world, where humans hate psychics and doesn't understand why members of AESES are so ruthless to people until catastrophe strikes. Kai gets separated from AESES and is saved by Asuka Tokugawa. The real adventure begins from there.

Now on to my review. First the story I'd give a 3/10, I'm not sure where they were trying to go with it. Were they trying to do something between the X-Men and the anime Scryed, it just didn't work. The characters I'd give 1/10, the were uninteresting cardboard cut outs I didn't care about. The animation was 8/10, I thought it looked good. Finally the music is a 8/10, it sounded good for this type of anime. Overall I'd give it a 5/10, good to look at and listen to the music, but skip the rest. read more

Since many other reviewers have gone and given a lot more detail I'll keep this short by saying it's a excellent anime series and here's my short review.

Chrono Crusade is based of a manga, which I highly recommend everyone reads, because it's even better than the anime. The Anime follows Chrono a demon and Rosette a nun around on their journey trying to find Rosette's brother Joshua. The adventure take them to new characters, like Azmaria, and Satella. The final six episodes are truly some of the best anime you'll ever see. The pure emotion put into the last six episodes was amazing, and the final episode was just so sad to watch. If anyone likes a show about many things including religion, love and friendship this is for you, but let me warn you don't expect a happy ending, but then ending still won't let you down either. read more

A anime with big ideas

Brain Powered is a anime with big ideas. The problem with it is it's execution. First the story is in the earth's near future. Where a strange ruin, known as Orphan, has begun to surface from Earth's oceans. Orphan first appeared from under the tectonic plates, and all signs point to it surfacing and causing a world wide catastrophe when it reaches its destination above the waves. This activity from Orphan has created earthquakes, seismic waves, and tsunami's, which have battered the land regions of Earth, producing wide spread floods and destruction. The humans inside Orphan plan to change the earth drastically by raising Orphan out of the ocean. They also use ant-bodies, giant robots created from Orphan. The story follows Isami Yuu who flees Orphan and Hime a member of Novis Noah a huge ship build to batttle Orphan.

Now that I gave the basic story of Brain Powered let's get to the review. Like I said earlier the show had big ideas trying to reach the height of other anime along the lines of RahXephon and Saikano and it generally does. The story I would give a 10 it kept me interested. The characters I'd give 9, they weren't cardboard cut outs and made you care about them. The animation was a 6, it was granny and looked like it was made in the late 80s. Also there were the giant robots that looked terrible. Finally the music I'd give a 7 on, there wasn't anything special but was still good. Overall I'd give it a 8. It wasn't a classic or great like the anime listed above, but it was still very good. read more
