Yeah, I agree that sometimes I wish it would have been just the most depressing ending possible, but key loves to troll I guess. It definitely does a good job of getting you going, though.
It's kind of sad that so many romance offerings tend to go open ended, but I can kind of see why since a lot of them are adaptions from Visual Novels, they are probably trying to avoid alienating a subsection of the fanbase by choosing the "wrong" girl or something.

Hello! Welcome to MAL. I saw your review for Mashiro Iro Symphony, and if you are looking for another story where the main character chooses one girl, you should watch Clannad and Clannad: Afterstory.
The first series gives each character their time in the spotlight and lets the viewer learn about them, but it is concluded with a solid choice, and continues on in Afterstory. Allowing the viewer to see more of the two characters life together.
Do not bother with the movie, though. As it will only give spoilers and does a much worse job at telling the story.
