Since 1999 I have produced and hosted game shows at anime conventions all across North America. Debuting at A-Kon in 1999 with the very first Anime Match Game, my shows eventually were seen as far west as Fanime and as far east as Tekkoshocon and Anime Weekend Atlanta. My more popular shows include Match Game, Anime Press Your Luck and Anime Price is Right.
I was at Tsubasacon in Huntington, West Virginia this year and in 2010 I will be doing game shows at Ohayocon, Naka-Kon, Anime Central, Minneapolis Anime Convention, San Japan and will hopefully be returning to Tsubasacon!
Shows from last year I enjoyed include Detroit Metal City, Kaiba, Hyakko, Nodame Cantabile: Paris Chapter, Bamboo Blade, Kannagi, Shion no Ou and Spice and Wolf. I tend to favor school comedy/dramas and shows that surprise you. My faith in Haruhi has been rejuvenated, our god has returned.
I'm also a rabid video game collector and am constantly scouring eBay, Goozex and Cheap Ass Gamer for deals.
Yeah, i'm starting to consider starting Cross Game...I normally have a thing about not watching shows while they still air, since i enjoy watching it all at once, but if I don't keep expanding my list of stuff, i'll finish what I have and then I'll be bored...plus from the ep that I watched with you it is a pretty good anime.
Seitokai did have a let down for the 2nd and 3rd eps, but I still think they're pretty good, as for Kimi ni Todoke, i'll have to check it out, i think i remember seeing it on tosho, but i'm not sure if I looked it up
Ha ha ha, yeah i guess thats a good way to do it, better to split it up than risk burning people out on it, or come up against shows that would eat up the ratings...though i can't think of anything this season that would. But who knows, maybe there is a Dark Horse out there that we're overlooking...I'm hoping anyways, since Seitokai is probably the best show of the season IMO
Though there are two things that slightly irk me about last seasons shows:
1. The last 3 eps of Bakemonogatari...streaming from the site? Couldn't they have fit them into special slots or something? Yeah, seasons are normally 12 eps long, but still there's always plenty of odd numbered series that it could fill the place of...maybe thats wishful thinking though.
2. Saki- They haven't said anything about picking it up for a second season...it was really good i'll admit, but the left it at a pretty bad point if its not going to get picked up again. I'm hoping they're going to announce a second season of it to air sometime in the future...but maybe thats the fan-boy in me talking
Yeah, I don't exactly have high hopes for the stuff airing this season, but I figure that the stuff that I am watching will be at the very least decent...though there are a couple that may get dropped --The Sacred Blacksmith and Nyan Koi will probably be the first to go...after Kiddy Girl
Seitokai no Ichizon is shaping up to be a pretty decent parody comedy though, thats probably the one that I have the highest hopes for...as well as Aoi Bungaku. Kampfer and Railgun seem to be good distraction anime's, and the Kiddy Girl...actually I'm moving that to On-Hold...unless i can somehow find a way to make it through the first ep...which isn't too likely at this point.
Easily one of the best shows I've seen. I'm taking my time with it because its so awesome...though i think that'll stop after i finish Kenichi, I'll probably watch it next...and have it finished tonight
Alright, I've got some dl's going of some stuff that you recommended- K-ON! Shakugan no Shana (both seasons) and I also decided to hit up some Death Note sometime around the time i'm watching those, in the mean time, you'll be happy to know that i'm going to be watching Clannad (along with a couple other series o_O) and i'm dling the After Story and specials...i see what you like about Kyou right off the bat, even though i'm only a few eps into it
How good is 'Hyakko', really? Because all indications are that I'm going to like it very, very much, and I don't want to have too much of a letdown if the contrary occurs.
Hi:) I see you have Maison Ikkoku in your fovourites Could you tell me how much volumes it has? Cause here its written 15, but when i tried to search for it, i found several sites where it was said to has only 9 volumes, so I'm confused. So which is it?
Our ratings do end up pretty close. But then our tastes seem to be fairly similar overall so I suppose it shouldn't be all the much of a surprise.
Going through ANN's encyclopedia (that's one thing I don't like about the site here- as far as I can tell, you can't get it to just list all the anime in the database so you can look through and find the ones that you've watched...) and entering in everything I've seen over the last decade and a half has been a great way to kill time at an otherwise extremely dull day at work. :P
