Actually, I'm way more into indie/alternative rock (though I have my hands in so many genres: power metal, hip-hop, progressive rock, alternative country, etc). But you can say I've been a big fan of hip-hop for quite awhile yeah.
Oh really? I loved Scary Monsters and Super Creeps a lot and enjoy Let's dance. I think I like how he took a turn towards industrial music in the 90s. Oh well yeah Metallica pretty much blows save a few songs. This is coming from a big thrash lover. As for Lou Reed I'm hesitant to dig deeper into his catalogue after hearing Lulu and Metal machine music.
Oh yeah based on reading reviews off the prog archives I have to agree. I'm quite a huge fan of Bowie as well and I see him as a contender for my favorite music artist. Brian Eno and David Bowie were a great match unlike Metallica and Lou Reed which was dreadful :/
Future Days is a bit more easy than Tago Mago. Both are great but I might choose Tago Mago simply for being longer lol. Krautrock was great but seems to get hate from a lot of Prog fans who think too much of it was mindless noise. I get pissed off every time I hear someone down talk the second side of Tago Mago.
Have you listened to the Residents? Not Krautrock exactly but they took the unconventional style even further. Also I reccomend David Bowie's Berlin Trilogy if you overlooked it.
I should probably look more into Cans Biography. I'm terrible with foreign names lol so I can't really name the members. That said Tago Mago, Future Days, and Ege Bamyasi are all mega classics IMO. Soundtracks, Monster movie, and Delay 1968 are great as well. Its a shame the Japanese singer left. I also love Amon Duul II and The Residents.
