Story: Great! The story isn't CRAZY original but how they portray it is really good so it makes up for it. One of the things that the story packs in a lot into each episode BUT it really flows. The plot twists are pretty good and there aren't many spots were things just seem too convenient, which a lot of anime tend to have. One thing that this story has that I really like is that the story has dark moments but also has good humor that lighten things somewhat.
I try not to give away spoilers in reviews but This story is good so WATCH IT!!!
Art: Great animation in my opinion even though there isn't really anything that sticks out here the fight scenes are well done and character design is really good.
Sound: They did really well on choosing voice actors!!! Everyone does well on voice acting which is suprising because usually there is usually at least one person that just drives you nuts with their voice but Busou Renkin does a good job of not having that.
Character: Characters are great in this anime! While the two main characters have similarities to Shakugan no Shana's two main character these two aren't nearly as annoying. Both characters are genuine and make since while the supporting characters are interesting and not worthless.
The only problem I had with the characters was that the supporting characters had more air time BUT with the air time they did have its awesome so its very minor just it would've been nice to have a lil more character development on them
Enjoyment: I really thought this anime was awesome because there wasn't any issues that really stuck out. There weren't any "too convenient" parts that were just out of no where. Also, due to the voice acting being good, you didn't have to deal with annoying voices that drew you away from the anime. The fights were interesting as well plus some of the parts of the series have you smiling from hwo things work out.
Overall: GREAT SERIES!!!! I just wish it would get more recognition because this is far better than shakugan no shana, which it is similar too.
I def recommend this to anyone looking for a truly enjoyable anime. read more

Much better than the first Shakugan no Shana, in my opinion of course.
Story: Even though it focused more on yuji's love life I really liked this story. The whole devlopment of yuji is great I believe and other characters start to bloom more like yoshida because she finally starts to take a stand. The story kinda failed when focus so much on the bad guy when she was in the same school as yuji. This story I think though is setting up for season 3 because other than Yuji becoming stronger nothing really new happens.
Art: Same thing as the first one, its really good for its style. Go go good budgets right? The visuals were great and the fighting was vibrant but still the purple bear, BECOME MORE VICIOUS LOOKING!!!
Sound: Everything flowed well except for Shana's voice. I didn't like her voice in the last one and I didn't like it in this one especially when complaining to yuji. The only good thing about her voice though is that she doesn't say "Shut up"x3 as much, which I personally thought was nerve wracking.
Characters: Great as before except everyone as a whole grew....yes even detestable shana (she becomes more tolerable, kinda). I think the biggest growth though was Yuji's and Yoshida's. I especially liked Yoshida's growth and how she supports Yuji emotionally when he needs it. I think if she had Shana's power she would be ideal for Yuji, but that just wouldn't be fair for Shana right? Yoshida does offer a lot of emotional parts which I thought was great when dealing with Yuji. While his character doesn't change too much, Yuji becomes more reliable which is huge I think. Shana's growth is small. She still is too headstrong and very annoying when it comes to Yuji
It did kinda bug me that Yoshida had to opportunity to become great by sacrificing herself OR turning into a flame herself OR whatever that trinket did, and actually become something great but instead acts like "I'll Use it to SAVE HIM....nah, @#$% it I'll wait...."
Enjoyment: Same as the last series everything was enjoyable EXCEPT when it came to shana's voice and when it came to shana/yuji relationship time. SHana's voice drove me up the walls and her being too headstrong is nerve wracking which turned me off to the anime BUT her fighting in the anime was very cool.
Overall: Putting aside Shana, this season is a great continuation to the series BUT completely useless because other than Yuji becoming stronger, Yoshida becoming more bold, and the explanation of the Reiji Maigo (I forgot if thats how you spell it) NOTHING HAPPENS.
Same as the first one too, I would recommend it if you had nothing else too watch. read more

Story: For the most part this story is pretty original but it does hold its "Hey, this is ripping this off from *enter anime name here*. The romance, or the lacking of it, was HORRIBLE. The romance between the two characters was ridiculous. I'll more about it in the character section. Other than that the story keeps you interested with plot twists here and there but for the most part, well at least for me, you can't get around how annoying the romance is.
Art: GREAT visuals in this anime. They really do a good job on how it looks other than one thing and thats the purple bear, seriously. They could've made it more vicious or something because in my opinion it kinda looked stupid when just standing there. That was really the only downside of this anime when coming to art. It was very easy on the eyes really.
Sound: Everything was good other than one thing. SHANA'S VOICE!!!! I remember just watching it thinking "Someone please kill this girl off or at least change voice actors". Everything else was fine really but someone that is supposed to be legendary should sound a bit...well cooler.
Character: I think they did really well here, everyone was in the anime was extremely enjoyable to watch. They all had their own personalities that developed as the anime went on which is very impressive because it didn't feel like the series was wasting time by introducing these characters. Shana was tooooooOOOOoOO annoying when in came to Yuji. Being stuck up and headstrong only goes so far. There are times where she is tolerable but enter Yuji's feelings into the equation and everything goes under when coming to Shana's character. Too me personally she is a quite annoying character that brought down the series. If she wasn't so powerful then she would be very replaceable.
Enjoyment: I enjoyed everything not dealing with Shana/Yuji relationship. Those parts were just too annoying that it made me want to just stop the anime right there. The fights were good though. The supporting cast was awesome as well, saving this series.
Overall: Pretty good, just Shana's voice and Shana/Yuji relationship parts was so annoying that it makes you want to beat children and the elderly but other than that I would recommend it IF the person had already watch a whole bunch of other anime and just wanted something to burn time. read more

Story: I'm not going to tell you any of the story just in case you watch it. I don't want to ruin it for you. I'll just tell you what I think. While the story was pretty captivating it just couldn't hold my attention too much because i guess you can say it was pretty typical anime characteristics of the main character being CRAZY weak and through really convenient circumstances and RANDOM bursts of strength win. I thought that was pretty lame honestly, So predictable. While there are a few plot twists everything just works out too well for the main character like "Wow, this guy really beating me down but out of nowhere i remember what someone else says. NOW I CAN WIN".
Art: The series is very nice too look at. Everything is put together well and looks nice. The super moves are pretty vibrant, go big budgets go but nothing new here really.
Sound: Nothing really stuck out here other than being pretty crisp nothing sounded out of place so it was ok. Can't really say anything about it other than that BUT this series did have good voice acting I thought. The voices suited the characters pretty well.
Characters: They were ok but it was kinda annoying how the main character was weak like none other always telling people that were stronger than him not to fight. The magicians in this series weren't memorable at all. The main character was kinda lame until the end of the series which isn't acceptable in my opinion. The servants in this story were ok other than Saber and Archer. These two stuck out the most because of character development. Saber was a very enjoyable character due to how she reacts to certain situations and how she responds. Archer was well.....amazing. The coolest servant in my opinion. Cool, calm, collected. I just wished he had a bigger role because he was very cool.
Enjoyment: It was ok but nothing I would recommend or show my friends. It didn't really excel at anything. The story was too convenient for the main characters so it kinda felt lame. The fighting was ok but didn't leave a lasting impression. Ya, there were a few enjoyable moments but the whole feeling of everything just magically falling into place kinda nagged at me the whole time.
Overall: TOO CONVENIENT!!! If your a person that likes everything working out MAGICALLY then I definitely recommend this anime for you but for people that like suspense then well, this anime sucks in that department. I personally like plot twists that keep you hooked but when everything just happens with "random luck" ALL the time in favor for the main characters gets old really fast. read more

Story: I think the story is great because how it flows really. In this series they manage to pack so much into each episode without it feeling rushed at all. I really think they did well here because even though each episode was around 20mins it felt just right. The story was pretty good fitting these characters into history which I thought was really good the thing that got me was the 3 different generations, which I thought was awesome. Overall the story is really enjoyable but the last generation is the best. It kept me hooked.
Art: Ok, first let me point out that this series didn't have a huge budget like other anime where they are able have amazing design due to great financial support. Even though this is the case they still do a good job of keep it presentable BUT i think the TRUE art style they wouldn't to use was the style from episode 24 which was stunning. I think it was unfortunate that the whole series wasn't like this
Sound: I believe that the sound for this series was pretty good. The sound track was pretty decent overall. The piano piece I think was amazing personally but the other music was ok.
Character: One thing about this series was that there weren't any characters that were straight up annoying like SOOOOO many anime. All the featured characters were pretty enjoyable to watch and through character development to started to care for them more and more even though each generation of people is only about 7-9 episodes each.
Enjoyment: YES!!! I really enjoyed this anime and recommend it to anyone. As I said before there weren't any annoying characters which is a GREAT plus but also the way that everything flows keeps you wanting to watch and holds your attention. While the fighting isn't flashy due to super powers its still quite interesting seeing the main characters fight bare handed against legendary fighters.
Overall: If you are reading this then WATCH THIS ANIME!!! I enjoyed it very much but as I said I think it would've been much better if they had more of a budget because then I think it would've been 10s all the way but can't have everything ^_^ read more
