It's been a long while since I watched and completed a magical girl series. So when I first read about SHAFT's first original anime production entitled "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" I was a bit skeptical at first, seeing how I usually don't watched the genre but at the same time curious on how SHAFT and Shinbou Akiyuki will gonna make one with their very unique visual style that defines SHAFT animated works. After watching their previous magical and supernatural series like Bakemonogatari, Dance in The Vampire Bund, Negima, and Natsu no Arashi, I'm convinced that I should at least try the series.

It’s a magical ...

RideBack (Anime) add
Watching an anime loaded with mecha stuff is a daunting task for me back then when the series was aired. At that time I'm no mecha fan yet but since this is done by Madhouse (one of the anime studios I really respected), I gave it a try anyway.

The story started with a young girl whose life takes a drastic turn when her dream of becoming a ballet dancer came to a complete halt when she was very young after an incident that prevents her from performing anymore. During those time, the world is experiencing a series of changes brought about by an organization in ...

They immediately became friends and the boy said that he will surely have a nice time in his new school. Little is he aware of what kind of school he is entering or the true identity of the girl.

Mixed Feelings
Megane no Kanojo is a very short OVA consisting of 4 episodes that follows the love story of girls wearing glasses. Each episode is dedicated to a single girl and is about 14 minutes long including its OP and ED themes. Despite the lack of length, the OVA delivered in contents. Each episode is fun to watch being lighthearted and the pacing is very nice as the stories revolves around a girl, the glasses the she wear, their circumstances, and how they overcome the hurdles and discover what love is as the episode moves along. Each episode ends with a sense of completeness in it.

The ...

IS is a 12 episode series that is one of the most highly anticipated amongst the Winter 2011 anime lineup for TV broadcast and quickly become a fan favorite upon its debut, but does it deliver?

The story starts with the introduction of Orimura Ichika, a male who for some unknown reasons able to operate an IS, an armored exoskeleton that can only be used by females. Being a qualified IS operator, he enrolled to an IS school that has a population predominated by females (actually I don't remember any other male character in that school). Being the only male student, naturally all the ...

As the story reaches its middle part, Break Blade has continuously impresses me with the way it exceeded my expectations, true enough almost all of my earlier complaints about this movie series isn't really valid anymore. As the war deepens and all the belligerents mobilizing every resource they have to claim victory, as a viewer I could help but get amazed on how the movie gives me goosebumps as I ride on excitement every passing minute of it.

Break Blade 4 isn't a stand-alone movie as it simple continued where the last movie finished, and this movie being in the middle part didn't ended with any ...

Lamune (Anime) add
Lamune is a short series that tells the love story of two very close friends. It follows an episodic format that usually starts with some flashback of them in their childhood days explaining bits of their history and how it relates to their present selves. The series started slow with most of the episode focuses on one particular event or problems and how they handle it. Each passing episode feels like their feelings for each other keeps on getting stronger but the two wouldn't admit it to themselves. Admittedly, the pacing and format will become boring for a while with no significant events to throw ...

After watching the original Spice and Wolf, it leaves me a feeling of wanting more and after a year of waiting here comes the sequel entitled "Spice and Wolf II"

Horo and Lawrence are still on their journey north to where they believe Horo originally resided. While the story is still all about medieval European economics and trade. Moving from one town to another, running into quite a bit of trouble, and solving it. This time around, the two travelers feel much closer to each other. As romance blooms, the story finally focuses on what lies ahead at the end of their journey...what lies after Horo ...

The moment I saw the Hunter with a Hair in Flames, Red Hot Eyes, and a body emitting a burning aura, in black coat, wielding a Katana - I was speechless and could only gazed by the beauty of it. This is what an anime should be about - an Ass Kicking Cute Girl!

One of the strong elements of SnS is its presentation - An epic battle between the beings who eats human existence called the Guze no Tomogaras and the beings who restore balance, the Flame Haze. The story kicks off a brilliant start, introducing our main characters - namely Shana and Yuuji - ...
