I haven't been around too much lately. I guess I'll dust off this account sometime soon.

Hello! I noticed you are into old school anjime.
So why don't you try getting into the Old School Anime Club?
I'm sure you'll just feel as home in there.
Cheers,
Rob.

Hello. We never really talked before, but I know you from the Year 24 discussion boards, so in this case the ‘random’ friend request is ok to me. *waves to new MAL buddy*
I like how you have a lot of older stuff in your lists (I really need to watch Galaxy Express 999 once, I already heard a lot of good stuff about it) and tend to like something with a little more depth to it. I have to admit that I myself am a sucker for romance, so you may also spot quite a few brainless short romantic tales in my lists, which I tend to enjoy every now and then as little tidbits.
Oh, I see you like Bob Dylan and the Beatles as well. Good taste floating around everywhere here :)

Yeah, Galaxy Express 999 only seems to have a VHS release form Viz to my knowledge, so any DVD versions of those movies would have to be obtained probably from Japan if anything. Also, I do remember a sort of funny "Darth Vader-esque twist" to Adieu Galaxy Express, unless that's my childhood memories playing tricks on me. But indeed, I will try to see them again someday.
Also, I like thought-provoking anime, Angel's Egg and The Wings of Honneamse are some of my big favorites after all, which means that if Utena wants to be thought-provoking or even profound, I'm all for it. ^_^

Ah, it seems I've replied quite late... Sorry about that ^^;;
I've never heard of the Mother games, but they sounds quite interesting. If Mother 3 wasn't released in the U.S., does it mean that you played it in Japanese [or maybe it was released in Europe, thinking about it]?
I'm pretty short on money, so I wouldn't buy it, but I'll try to search around for someplace to download it.
By the way, I saw you read Endless Narcissus. How did you find it?

Thank you for the add, it's always fun to meet people who like older anime and I have to admit that I've been quite a victim to most anime from the 80s! :D
Also, I have seen Galaxy Express 999 and Adieu Galaxy Express many years ago when the Sci-fi Channel aired anime super early on Sundays (around 2 AM I think). I would like to rewatch those movies sometime in my life.
I hear great things about Utena from a lot of folks by the way. ^_^

Yeah, totally. I don't really know much about him as a person, but I found his image as sort of the quiet, spiritual Beatle appealing. Helps that he's responsible for my two favorite Beatles songs, "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun". He also gets cool points for Monty Python connections.
Although for some reason, I'm not a big fan of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". I'd rather listen to say, Within You Without You (I'm a sucker for the sitar).
Oh, like your avatar and display pic. James is hilarious.
