I was Shocked to enjoy this show, especially as much as I did. It starts out really strange with cotton ball enemies that have mustaches and a talking cat thing that was the super cute, annoying type I usually despise but somehow, the negative opinion I had when I started was blow out of the water with one of the most surprising stories I've seen in quite a while. The magical girl genre was never one of the most original but the brutal deaths and true tragic characters, along with an extremely intelligent ending make this one of the must see anime that come along read more

This show had so many great qualities that I really hate giving it such a mediocre score. The art quality stands out as one of clamp's most beautiful, especially Saya's design and the jarring change from a simple school life to the brutal violence. I also thought most of the action scenes were well done and the characters were the right choice for the story. On the bad side the pacing is slow and it always feels that a big revelation is about to come but never quite happens. It also seems like it was a set up to what could have been an incredible read more

This movie is boring, really boring. I actually fell asleep and had to rewind to see it all though, after making it to the end I realized I shouldn't have bothered. Despite being a very pretty anime the story overly complicates a simple concept while pretending to explain what is supposed to be happening and giving you characters that I just didn't care about. I think this movie will only appeal to people who don't mind overly dramatic tragedies.

I enjoyed the anime quite a bit and wanted to read this for a while. I very much enjoy the characters and it's really cool to see more of what they do for a living. I also enjoy the way some of their stories are expanded. The lack of an overall plot takes away from what could have been a really great book.

This show shocked me with how much I loved it. There aren't many that do but when you find them you can't help but treasure every minute of it. The story sounds kind of boring from reading the synopsis and the heavy use of currency exchange rates and bartering would turn off anyone who doesn't watch bloomberg, but somehow it all works here. Watching Holo and Lawrence traveling and getting to know each other and the world they live in is a joy. Their journey playing out as this strange romance with people that seem to have no chance at love and sticking together anyway. read more

I know my rating for this show is high, especially compared to Eden of the East or Ergo Proxy and any of the other sci fi shows I've seen. For me it came down to the characters and how they interacted with each other. They made the show for me and enjoyment is always the most important part of any for of entertainment. The outfits are ridiculous, the story is almost non existent and there are many higher quality shows out there. If you give it a chance, however, this show may surprise you. Just don't expect it to change the way you feel about read more

This show is nonsense that can't decide what it wants to be. It jumps from comedy to romance to epic sci fi and back without making any real sense. I understand that some shows like to do the what it means to be human thing but you need more than some vague ideology to make the point, like good characters or a smart plot or even one original idea. This show lacks all of those things plus lacks the one direction that could make it work. It doesn't even have that one overlying point that all great sci fi does, such as Ghost in the read more

I've seen a lot of anime and some of the major problems are how the characters react or approach any situation, especially when it comes to confrontations. The beginning shows a world that has potential to make a very exciting and up until episode 10, I believe, I was very excited to see more. Then the main character Zwei did the biggest sin in any type of entertainment. Instead of just doing what he set out to do he takes an hour to chase and kill the guy he was after. I struggle with these kind of scenes because it doesn't speak to him being read more

I originally started this show and was put off by how they seemed to rush some of the most important parts of the first series but after the story went into different areas I began to see how much better anime could be. This series is a masterpiece, better than the first in every way. Every character is back with new stories that help define them in ways the first never did. New characters add even more layers to a complex, vibrant world that seems more real this time around. Even the hero moments stand out more. This is the definitive version of the best read more

I Hate this show. Every time you think its going to be interesting or action packed it disappoints. The basic idea could have made it worth watching except for the constant whining. It makes it hard to care when none of the characters are worth following and the only time it seemed like the characters or plot were going to get interesting the show disappoints again and ops to follow the least interesting of the characters. Despite the art I would recommend skipping this and watching anything else.
