In an effort to be more original, I've decided to try and come up with something NOT copied directly from my Facebook.
Ahem...
My name's Jonathan, but most of my friends call me JB. It's a name that stuck from my jerk of a football coach. (It's the only positive thing he ever did for me...)
I'm a 20 year old junior at Troy University, where I major in Computer Science. I plan to find some way into the video game industry, since that's been my passion since I was about five years old.
I'm a total nerd, though most people wouldn't know it from the look of me. (Or so I've been told...)
I love ALL genres of video games, but my favorites are definitely JRPGs, first person shooters, and 2D fighters. Games like Halo, Persona 4, the entire Final Fantasy series, Guilty Gear, Street Fighter III, and etc. are pretty high up on my list.
As for anime and manga, I definitely had a slow start in terms of my collection. I guess I got my start like 90% of guys here; via Dragon Ball Z or some other popular Shonen series. I'd like to think my tastes are a bit more diverse than when I was ten, though.
I haven't watched/read a genre of anime/manga that I don't enjoy. I've recently found that I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic, so romance series are a personal favorite. I also like mysteries, adventure, and slice of life genres.
Glancing at this should give you a gist of what I'm all about...
Likes: Japan, manga, video games, graffiti, Italian food, battle rifles, ramen, closed captioning, finding money, 8-bit music, peach-flavored Faygo, MetaCritic, girls who are good at video games, cute girls (in general), graphic tees, pop tarts, kotatsus, looking at stars, samurai, mechs, 808s, hadoukens, free stuff, zombie apocalypses, Dr. Doom, HDTVs, hourglasses, etc.
Dislikes: Clowns, bad horror movies, my general clumsiness, douches, swimming, contact lenses, bookshelves, mean people, homework, regular work (except my actual job), gas prices, awkwardness, sleep paralysis, swine flu, Twilight, angst, physics, etc.

Ah okay, yeah that is pretty much what I thought you meant, and you're right, spending time with friends and family (no matter how often you do it) is always something special! :)
Hmmm, yeah I am kind of the same way. I was an only child till around the age of 10 or so, so I did spend a nice chunk of my life in solitude. I would say I am somewhere in the middle overall though. I would love spending time with my fiends back at school, but then as soon as I got home, I would enjoy watching TV by myself.
Pwn those n00bs at Christmas, just tell them it is their gift for the season! XD
I am really looking forward to Tales of Graces, a fine time to own a Wii! And dude, Heavy Rain looks lik it may break the gaming mold!!
I really thought "A Boy and His Blob" would end up being kiddie and stale, but wow was I in for a shock when I saw it.
Really? You mean you don't plan on spending Christmas with the family, or maybe friends? I am usually the kind of guy who enjoys more solitude than social, but I still couldn't imagine spending Christmas without my family. Maybe I misunderstood you. Well, maybe you could have some online Halo death matches on XBOX Live!
What games have been piling up on you?
Well one of my biggest beefs with the Metroid Prime series was, the fact that it didn't let you use the C stick to look up and down. You actually had to hold down the trigger, aim and then use that you look around with. Did they finally change that in the latter versions? I know the first 2 parts were like that.
I think the game (Zombie Panic in Wonderland) is being developed in Europe, or something like that anyway, I read the article a while back, saw it in Nintendo Power. Sadly though, it won't be coming state side till the second quarter of 2010. NOOOO!!!
Have you played "A Boy and His Blob" on the Wii? Surprisingly much more deep than it looks.
Ah I know how you feel, it just makes Christmas all the sweeter, knowing that you don't have to worry about school for a few weeks. Any plans you got for the Holidays by the way bud?
I use to like Metroid a lot back in the NES and SNES days, but once Nintendo made it into an FPS game, I ended up losing interest in it. It's a solid title to be sure, it's just that I don't care for FPS games--with the exception of Timesplitters. Very true man, we don't want to see Samus in a bikini anytime soon. Although she is the fan service character of Nintendo, even if they never meant her to be. Especially since SSBB came out. I know, it's weird. :/
You bring up some good points actually man, well we shall see how Bayonetta turns out.
A game that I just heard of recently, is really getting me excited. Have you heard of "Zombie Panic in Wonderland?" Looks like it might be worth a pick up:
Take the classic Alice in Wonderland story, but add gun fire, anime characters and zombies? Sounds like a winner to me! PLus there's co-op.
I actually will have to agree with you there man. From the interviews I have seen he does seem to come off as a self centered jerk, and I feel that might have had a little to do with his break up from Team Ninja. You're right though, his game designing skills really are special. I am hoping such games as Dead or Live don't end up going down the toilet now that he left. Hopefully they can hire someone who can do justice to his games, or at least try and capture it themselves. Despite me not being a huge fan of Itagaki, I have to say that I am looking forward to what he will be making in the years to come.
Okami was a great game, and I am hoping Bayonetta lives up to the hype, despite some negative things I have been hearing about it.
The Ninja Gaiden Arcade game was awesome. The game over screen use to scare me as a kid though. XD
Yeah man, I think you will like the "ef" series. It's more of a romance theme though, no supernatural stuff. But it is quite interesting to watch.
If you like series that are heavy dialog ridden, then you might want to check out a series called ef- a tale of memories. In fact, it is actually made from the same creators as Bakemonogatari (SHAFT). It's more about romance, but does do it quite artistic like. Think you will really like it man!
Well one thing I have to say about Ninja Gaiden at present, is that it hasn't been the same since Itagaki left Tecmo. The bosses in Sigma 2 on the PS3 are really off the wall, such as one of them being the statue of liberty? What the heck?!
Sixaxis-controlled breasts? Well...it is made from the same makers as the "Dead or Alive" series, which is known for that kinda stuff.
I would tend to agree with about the blood man, sometimes it's better to tone something down, because if it goes too far over the top, it just looks silly instead of intense. Though the game has still warranted an "M" rating none the less. By the way, have you ever played the original arcade version of Ninja Gaiden?
Yup, I did the same thing for Halloween bud, just ended up watching a scary movie with some friends of mine.
Bakemonogatari is awesome, I really love the artistic style it mixes with it's creepy themes. The script writing is also top notch.
Speaking of Ninja Gaiden, I want to buy Sigma 2 on the PS3 once I get one, which I have a feeling will be around Christmas. I was going to get the 360 version, but since the port is already brought over with the traditional bells and whistles, guess I'll just wait instead.
Well the most oddest thing about the Saw video game, is the fact that it's only about puzzles. I hear tell that many of them are very much alike, which can make it feel repetitive. I think the game will appeal pretty much to fans only. It might not be the best of the best, but for a license movie game, it's pretty decent. The graphics are the best part of the game I think, really looks sweet.
As for me, I wanna get Magna Carta 2. The flirt game was pretty good, so I am hopeful that they make this one even better. Oh, and I am hoping to hear more info on Valkeryia Chronicles 2.
