I watched this show while at the same time mocking it... there were just too many scenes that were pathetically done. This show is about the son of god whom is living in the human world to learn more about them so that one day he'll become the perfect god with the understanding of human beings, thus training. He appears to be 15, so of course; he's going to a high school. He has a companion, an angel who helps/guides him while he's training to become this perfect god. The angel appears to be madly in love with the son of god. Kamiyama, the son of god, instead ignores these oblivious love warnings by the angel. The story follows arcs, different story's every 2-3 episodes, that consist of the angel and Kamiyama doing ridiculous acts together.
Story: I thought the story had a unique feel to it; never had I seen such a story like this. Unfortunately, I have many times seen horrible set ups to story's that had potential; this show is one of them. The story set up was excessively corny, and like I had stated; I mocked the show while watching it due to it's unprogressive feel.
Art: The art was decent, enough for me to tolerate. The shows art appeared to me as a 2003 anime with good quality. The art definitely didn't compare to some other anime's that were produced in 2006. But as I stated, decent.
Sound: For the most part, the music was dreadful. A riven prying it's way into hell. There was only one piece of music/sound that I did particularly enjoy, which constituted this "high" score of 5. I'm not sure what it's called, but it appeared in the later episodes. The clip of music was in the "episode recap" right before the actual show began.
Character: We have a blue haired dumb ass, a pink haired girl who resembles a devil more than anyone in the show, a mother with a sexual attraction to her son, and a god who can't do shit. You'd think being the son of god you'd have at least a small amount of magical power... no, of course not. Kamiyama appears to react to the exact same alarming sequences a normal human would... Kamiyama is a human. The whole entire show was compiled of idiotic powerless labels.
Enjoyment: Just because I'm giving the show a "6" doesn't mean that it was good, at all. The anime really only amused me by comedy, as every scene in this show needed someone laughing at it. Very little was put into this show... and even though it made me laugh, it made me laugh for the wrong reasons. I give enjoyment "6" because the anime made me laugh.
Overall: This show was quite mediocre but managed to not completely fail due to it being so mediocre that it was funny. I wouldn't recommend this anime to somebody who has a similar taste in anime with me. I typically enjoy serious anime's over comedy's. This anime... wasn't serious in the least bit. But if you like comedy's, if you like anime's without structured plots, then go crazy with Kamisame Kazoku. read more

This anime is very psychological and manipulative, so if you’re not into consistent plot twists and an exuberant array of drama then I highly suggest you don’t watch this anime. To add to my suggestion of choice…If you like stories with happy endings, or nice characters, then you’re going to be horrified. This story has an unexpected ending that may not please everyone, as well as characters who are a truthfully jerks.
Story: The story was magnificent, it was pure genius. I have to admit, happy endings are nice, but they aren’t in line with the truth of reality. People usually don’t get to live happily ever with their lover. Not only is half of America’s married people divorced, the other half could be cheating or treating their spouse horribly. Now granted, the story isn’t something that usually happens, or really happens at all, but it still shows the depression, anger, and jealousy that can build in humans. The story is a perfect example of a miserable set of emotions too chained and too reluctant to realize it’s abhorrence.
Art: The stories art was quite magnificent. The quality immediately drew me into the story to an even higher level. For me to watch an anime, no matter how magnificent the story and character may be, the anime has to have good art. And I must say, this anime’s art was beyond my expectations. The characters eyes were beautifully woven and the facial expressions were perfectly intact.
Sound: The sound was good enough for me to comfortably enjoy the show. The reason sound doesn’t have a score quite as high as the other specifics are because I simply can’t remember anything special with it, or bad with it. In fact, I don’t really remember the sound at all. But that states that I didn’t dislike the sound…nor like it. So I give sound an “8”.
Character: The characters were nicely made, and fit the criteria of the story perfectly. If Makoto wasn’t such a jerk then the story couldn’t be done correctly. But even so, some of the characters bugged me to no end. Even though some characters were vexating a lot of the nice ones made up for that, and I know the annoyance of the characters was needed for the amelioration completion of the story.
Enjoyment: I enjoyed this story a lot, and as you can tell by my anime list, not every anime or even a quarter of the anime I’ve seen received a 10. I couldn’t stop watching the series, and all day I would just surmise over the series. I have to say this story exceeded all of my expectations. I never expected for an anime with this kind of presentation to be this good!!
Overall: Overall I loved this anime, loved it enough to put it on my favorites of anime. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone that wants to view a creation of truth.
