i know about that anime, andi havent watched it, but i do think i know the reason why ur confused, its becuz i read that they go over the same scene over again, but from different perspective's which is why if a character died, they would look as if they just somehow magically came back to life.
its a horror nime, and i'm not really into those types, that why i stay away from them.
also shuffle i think is a good anime, but i hate the plot twist with the main girl's personality, she's what u call a "yandere" i think school days and this anime are also full of them. i try to avoid them, cuz they kinda scare the crap out of me, lol

well it seems this elfin lied is really good coming from u, though i heard it was gore to the MAX so i was hesitatating a bit, but do u really think i should watch it?

ok these animes are one's i think rite now are good for u to watch, they all have disadvantages and advantaes but i think u will enjoy them:
-ChäoS;HEAd
-clannad (both seasons together its about 50 episodes, but trust this is one anime u just can't miss.)
-Happiness! ( the ! is included)
-Myself ; Yourself
-Nyan Koi!
-Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (this is one of those animes that u have to watch, not becuz there the best but becuz its REALLY popular, but its still good nonetheless
-Karin
-Fortune Arterial: Akai Yakusoku
this is the anime's so far which i think meet ur criteria, which is kinda vague for now, but i think i'll better understand soon.
also the part which u said about havin romance interested me, for som reason, i also need to have som romance between the main guy and som girl, even if its one sided, weird huh? lol

well i havent watched school days but i do know what kinda happend in the end, and one thing i really dislike are yandere girl's (them being wat ever girl becomes psychotic at the end of that anime, and yea thats the definition of yandere)
hmm, im gonna check my list to see what suits u, but i know one anime for sure that u will probably like and its called "shuffle" the opening of that anime is good too.
so while u check that out im gonna see wat anime's u will like.
