I've been a fan of anime for quite awhile now. However, I didn't really get hooked into the genre until 2003 or '04. Back then, the only anime I knew of was Pokemon, Dragon Ball, Yu Yu Hakusho and anything that was aired on Toonami or Adult Swim. After watching Berserk during my freshman year at high school, I started to check out other series. I shifted away from anime for quite some time and only just tried getting back into it in 2012.

I enjoy most anime, though I am always up for a discussion with the execution of said anime and how it could have been done better. Speaking of that, I don't rate anime because I hate having to boil down my opinion to a number. This, and because I watched some of it before I started using MAL, and I don't remember what I thought of those shows, and having 10% of the shows unrated would annoy the hell out of me. The same applies for manga.
