Hope you're doing alright man.

Merry Christmas Ehx.

I spent the day marathoning a season of Precure. Finally finished it. All them powerups, angelic wings, holding hands for powerup, and charging into a giant enemy like that. Combined with rainbow coloured effects. And yuri.

Far too fabulous.

Merry Christmas Ehx!

Thankfully (see what I did there) I usually don't see good anime anymore (what a pleb I am) so I don't really have to readjust or move my rating scales. And that's good to hear, that you're at least giving due to anime you enjoy.

I really enjoyed Rinne no Lagrange season one, despite it having a multitude of issues, and if all mecha anime were like it, to be honest, I wouldn't mind pledging my soul to them mechs either. I don't know, Rinne no Lagrange had a really good cast, really good music, mouth-watering visuals, and an interesting story altogether. It has that -good- vibe. Since Freedom considers you the mecha lord, got any recommendations for me based on this?

I can't get into recently aired anime besides a few genres and titles. I must be getting old or something. Maybe one can only take so much generic crap.

It's okay. I gave a really incoherent and inarticulate speech the other day (with no prep) and receive a B+ for good ideas. It's all good~

Only managed to hold mobo to backplate with around 2/3 of the screws. The case came with uber-thick rubber screw insulators which messed up my attempts as it only wore away the thread O_O.

Built the computer. It's a dodgy build so I just hope it sticks together.

Working sucks, need to have more time to leisure or else you'll be overworked. I'm sure you'll be able to work out a nice balanced schedule. It's going good, almost time for finals but it's no big deal since I only have to worry about one and the rest are take-home finals. I'm trying to start getting more active with reviews now so be on the look out for them.

How goes it Ehx?

Stellio | 11-02-13, 10:53 AM
Apparently Maki's also tsundere, and not the annoying tsun tsun type, so she fulfills her appeals fantastically. I'd like to say the same for Kurisu, but her judgement would have to wait till Steins Gate movie gets decent subs. Apparently she's more emotional and humane in the movie~

Pleb taste!! You stink with plebiness!!
Honestly though I never understood why everyone (on mal) has complained about rating scales, it's really a matter of how one uses his or her rating scale that determines the mean score anyway. One instance is the SoL genre. It's true beauty is within mundaneness, but there lies within nature more mundaneness that is.. sublime, and truly worthy of being called "exceptional." Sure I have fun watching Yui have tea with qte girl, but such a talent is passable in comparison to, let's say, the debonair and lax chef extraordinaire, which is of course, none other than Aria the Franchise.

But none of that really matters. The only purpose ratings on my list serves is that when someone scrolls into it and wants to know what my top 3 recommendations would be, it'd be the 10s, then the next 8, the 9s, and so on so forth. I rate them in order of how much quality is in them, which unfortunately usually doesn't equate to fun, but oh well.

I used to get so excited by anime but nowadays its just like eh. I even considered myself an otaku at one point but owning no figures and little merchandises, that is a bygone title. I guess I was obsessed at one point, but that was when school was easy. Good luck with work though!

Also, if you haven't noticed, I'm really really really really bad with reply timings. Pls forgive ;_;

Heh. My Logitech 2.1s are 6.5 years old now. They were the first set of speakers I actually spent money on (US$50) and I still love them. I dread to go for even higher end stuff as it's going to be endless!

Another thing that's been bugging me, Windows 8 vs 7. AFAIK, Win 8 is better in every way. Faster, more economical on resources and bogged down with 4 less years of updates. The only con being the Start menu which can be fixed easily. Is there anything I'm missing?

Then there's motherboards. An "ordinary" Z87 board costs US$140. The Sniper M5 is $242. I live in a hot, humid, dusty place. Are the better capacitors worth the price? I do have bad memories of totalling an Athlon XP build from dust, heat, humidity after not using it for a year as I flew to another continent at short notice.

I just found out I can stick in a PCI-E 1x into a 4x slot. This changes a lot of things.

X10A_Freedom | 10-29-13, 3:30 AM
This micro case has 5 fan slots of which I'm planning to use 4 of them. 2x 120mm intake and exhaust respectively.

The i7 is ever so tempting but even I'm not exactly made of money.. ;_; It's a 15-20% gain for a 30% price increase. That said, I wanted a R9-290 non-X but even that is out of my reach. The 280X has gone down in price though, as it's actually a previous-gen card also known as a 7970.

I'm marginally an audiophile. I guess a more accurate description would be slightly more sensitive ears than average. I can easily tell the difference between a RealTek ALC271x and a Creative Xmod external soundcard, the latter I use most of the time. Then there's .mp3 vs .FLAC. Works better for some songs (e.g. ELISA - REALISM) than others.

I've been hearing mixed comments on that Creative Sound Core chip. I've got some time yet before I build so I'll keep looking.

X10A_Freedom | 10-28-13, 7:12 AM
Thanks. I'll be gaming on it. 1080p 8xAA, 16x AF, high detail is the aim. I'd like the VGA to last 2 generations. As in the next upgrade being a R9-580X for example. I'll write why my specs are really weird in a few places.

I have a bummer of a game called Train Simulator 2014. It's about 40gb big and takes ages to load on a mechanical hard drive. I also want to put other games and save the inconvenience of install/uninstall. Also, I've been getting tired of Windows Update taking forever, virus scans taking hours and worst of all, defrag. Thus the oversized SSD. The HyperX have the best on-paper specs in the Kingston range for a minimal premium. I also have a spare Hitachi 1TB HDD in hand for junk storage.

I'm a bit of an audiophile who lives in a tiny room and tiny desk so I'm really desperate for a mATX setup. The available mobo choices are limited, and most come with RealTek ALC892 codecs. There is only one mATX board which offers a PCI-E 1x slot in the right location to stick in an ASUS Zonar Soundcard, which is an overpriced ASUS Z87 board. The Gigabyte Sniper board comes with a Creative onboard soundcard which should be enough for my needs. Also, Gigabyte markets hard on their build quality and reviews indicate a fantastic BIOS that is rock stable under overclocking.

As for my over-emphasis on cooling and fans, again, I live in a small room where my mere presence increases room temp by 1.5c. This machine needs to withstand 30c ambient temperature. Most reviews when they test hardware have a 18-22c ambient. The slim fans are a unique requirement for my compact N200 case. Also, it's the only way I'd fit a Hyper 212X *and* a side GPU-centric intake fan.

Bluray drives are a US$26 premium now over DVD drives. It's kinda vanity but I do own precisely one BD disk from The Museum II lel.

As for the router, it's either a router or a USB wireless dongle. My flat has LAN cables going to every bedroom. So I'd rather exploit that. My internet is 100mbps FTTH and I've heard from another good friend that routers tend to have hissy fits when they are at capacity i.e. 100mbps. Thus a gigabit router.

X10A_Freedom | 10-26-13, 5:57 PM
Indeed amazing that the channel is still up.

Nana x Nishikawa's dual performance on stage has improved infinitely. I came across an interview where Nana actually talks about this, and that on their first live, she inadvertently ended up flirting with Nishikawa. <3 Ok not flirting, but standing too close and ended up whacking his back with her arm multiple times. :3

Oh, and more MAL hacking?
