With the focus on the main character's ability to see what other people can't see, the 2 MCs in both series behave incredibly similar. If you like to see how misunderstood kids manage to find their happiness both series are great.

Sabage-bu!
add

Both are similar in terms of how the main character went into the club, and they are also quite light in their presentation styles. Though Sabagebu is more action-packed with BB guns, GJ Bu is more slice-of-life with more normal? club activities.

Majokko Shimai no Yoyo to Nene
add

When I watched Majokko, I had a similar nostalgia feeling to that of "Spirited away", aka Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi. It's meant for a children audience, and also contains mystery, the supernatural, adventure, friendship abd even some adolescent feelings of love. But more importantly, both are tales of children wanting to save others, sacrifice and love. But in terms of maturity levels, I would say Majokko beats "Spirited away" hands down.

Both feature characters who have hybrid powers, one of which is the same as the enemies they are trying to eliminate, in Bleach it is hollows, in Claymore it is Yoma.

Freezing
add

Both are similar in that they consist of organisations, with the members being given special powers, with some trade-off, to fight special beings. For Freezing it is Pandora, for Claymore it is Yoma. However, their special powers are not only used to fight Yoma, the members on several incidents fight amongst each other too for various reasons.

Rosario to Vampire
add

Both are similar in that they concern yoma, action and discrimination. The settings are vastly different though... Rosario to Vampire's discrimination is against humans, and the only one affected is the main male character, while Claymore's is against half-yomas, and affects the entire Claymore Organisation. Rosario's setting is mainly in a school, with harem, romance, comedy and school life while Claymore's is between cities, with adventure and tragedy.

Claymore
add

Both are quite similar in the sense of an organisation seeking to kill demons who have infiltrated into the human society, with its members the only ones to detect the demons among humans (for D.Gray-man it's only Allen though). One difference is that while D.Gray-man's organisation (Black Cross) seem more accepted by the humans, Claymore's organisation (Claymore) is discriminated against, even if both of them have special powers.

Angel Densetsu
add

Both are by the same mangaka, and they have a similar theme of discrimination against kind and good people, and the acceptance of the outcast / outcasts by certain people. The setting is vastly different. Even if both have action, Angel Densetsu has a focus on delinquents, school, romance, comedy and slice-of-life, while Claymore focuses on adventure, action, supernatural and tragedy.

Double Arts
add

Both feature great action, and to me, the most underrated manga I have read been axed (or seem to be axed). And they both end on a high note, seeming to still hold a lot of storyline and potential. One difference is Double Arts is adventure, while Ultra Red is mainly dojo and tournament style.

There's a main hero and a main villain who are both overpowered compared to the rest of the characters. A lot of explosive action scenes which destroy huge areas. And a lot of comedy off-battles.

Somehow the main guy character in both manga resemble each other, their character designs and the way they act: Kind, honourable, compassionate and so on. Difference is Toriko focuses on food aside from fighting, but Kongou Banchou is more of a fighting over territory manga.

Both have unique jokes that are not commonly found in comedy mangas. And they have some similar jokes between each other, for example a female idol who is very capable and often funny. They also have in common action scenes which are very exciting and hot-blooded. The main male character also attracts side characters through kindness, compassion and strength.

Last Inning
add

Aside from the fact that Last Inning is about Baseball and Giant Killing is about soccer, the 2 are actually very similar. Similarities: 1. Both are about clubs that have reached top national leagues in the past, but due to some circumstances, have fallen from glory. 2. Both are about a coach, with considerable mystery, and with unthordox training styles, train the players from near zero to hero, often with resistance from people affiliated with the clubs. 3. Both feature deposed former coaches being sidekicks to the new "special coach" (Lol). 4. Both have talented players respected by critics and coaches in the same industry, but are usually so cause they were developed by the new coach. 5. Both focus on strategy and psychology in placing tactics, e.g. targeting weaknesses in opponents' teams. Differences: 1. Last Inning seems to have more realistic life and baseball-related problems as compared to Giant Killing, meaning the overall story development is deeper. 2. Last Inning has a side focus on salesmanship (lol).

Quite obviously, these 2 mangas have main characters who are idiotic, strong and very very funny. Although the premise are largely different, the way in which these 2 present their comedies have similar traits. If you love one it is likely you'll love the other.

add

These 2 mangas are by right, fundamentally different, but carry similar traits. Similar: Both the main characters have this initial introduction of one that has overcomed many obstacles and opponents, then they start on a journey due to some reasons, and start facing more powerful opponents at a high risk. They are very shounen-ish and reminds me of One Piece. The main guy character's design is kinda similar too. Different: Shokugeki is a cooking manga with a side focus on ecchi while Gamaran is a samurai manga focusing on sword techniques, combat instincts and the like, and has consideable gore.

The settings are slightly different, where Pastel is more on school life and teenagers, whereas Yume de Aetara is more between working lives and adults. However, they are similar in the slow romance type, and the gradual building of relationships, with a lot of hurdles along the way. Also, the side characters are gradually being built on along the chapters, and they make progress in their lives too, including romance. Both have conservative main male and female characters.

add

Both series involve a girl who's unique, and where initially no one dares to go near. Later on, the girl begins to make more and more friends as people realise her good points instead of judging based on outward appearances and rumours. Both are comedy, and have a main male character who "bring out the best in the girl". They also have a "from bottom of the class/grade to one of the top" part. The difference lies in Sumire 16 having more unique circumstances and humour, since it's about a life-size marionette, while Yandere is about a "Yankee-dere".
