Both of these series focus on the supernatural and both have some unique ecchi scenes. Yuuko Kanoe and Senjougahara also look similar to some extent. Both are quite recent anime.

Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai

Although Ichigo 100% presents itself as a serious love story with some humour and numerous harem & ecchi moments thrown into the mix, it can get a bit tedious and repetitive. If you're looking for a parody of the romance genre or are just looking for a breath of fresh air to your usual manga reading, try Kami nomi! I guarantee you won't be disappointed by this unconventional manga.

Two quality sci-fi anime. Whereas Steins;Gate tackles the concept of time-travel, GitS 2: Innocence questions the ethics of making cyborgs/robots, and reveals the vulnerability of AI to hacking and viruses. While SG's plot is slightly stronger, GitS 2: Innocence makes for a more compact viewing, and the graphics are stunning for a 2004 anime. Since GitS 2 is reminiscent of a good old cop story, be prepared for some gunfights and explosions!

Kara no Kyoukai Movie 3: Tsuukaku Zanryuu

Most people think that Higurashi is a violent anime. But I think Kara no Kyoukai is even more so. While Kara no Kyoukai's plot development is not as strong as Higurashi's, it offers better action scenes with good graphics and an even better soundtrack. Both are high quality anime.

Denpa-teki na Kanojo

Both have an underlying sense of mystery and cover dark themes. Both have plot twists, although Denpa arguably has a more understandable plot. Both feature blood and gore, but are used appropriately in intense, realistic action scenes. The ending themes for both titles are also awesome!!

Vagabond

Both feature gory sword/melee combat scenes and journeys of warriors who grow mentally and physically strong yet must make sacrifices to survive. While Claymore's art suits its fantasy setting, Vagabond uses a hyper-realistic art that reinforces its historical context.

Pathetic male protagonist surrounded by more girls than he can handle. Both series have a Rei-type character (pale blue hair, red eyes, etc). Also pure mindfuckery in both animes, but in NGE this is only the last 2 or 3 eps. In Chaos Head, the whole anime is twisted. Also, a mysterious corporation is behind everything in these animes.
