I am 10+ year anime fan / 2+ year otaku (in a very liberal sense). I started watching anime in HS (>10 yrs ago). The first titles I can remember watching are Akira (which time has not been too kind to) and Fist of the North Star (on VHS no less). There (of course) was a healthy sprinkling of hentai, but back then the title really didn't matter.
I never really got obsessive until late 2005 with the US broadcast of Evangelion. Adult Swim was great for adult-oriented cartoons but I rarely made it to the later 'action' shows. Being intrigued with the Eva story - it became the first of my semi-respectable (retail!) collection. *shudder* Even though I have grown out of the Eva fascination (Yes people there are better series than Eva) it still maintains a special place for me because it... um.... opened new doors.

hey dude.. yea i guess you could say i'm back.. i haven't really been spending much time on here since i've had a lot going on lately [i also didn't have the internet for several months] and kind of took a break from anime.. but i suppose i'm getting back into it and am currently working on finishing eureka 7 since i started that one ages ago.
