My memory is beyond repair, but I can remember at 6 or 7 y.o, my old man would take me and my younger brother to get the VHS of these shows from the video store (which is now a bakery, that has the best chicken rolls and pies), good old days. Re-watching these shows now, while nostalgic it's unbearable, especially Transformers.
I came across this show after looking for more DBZ, Majin Boo Saga episodes on the internet since TV3 was airing the cut version and local video stores sucked giant basketballs for lagging years behind with the release of the uncut version (I could be exaggerating and the releasing of the VHS could of been out of their control).
Some random DDL DBZ site had a picture of a guy clutching his sword in an attack stance, in front of this giant cool looking robot. I was sold. Particularly since the last full blown robo or mecha shows I watched was Transformers and Voltron. Amazing story, although the ending was somewhat inconclusive for me, I still hold this show in the highest of high regards for drawing me emotionally into a show with a host of magnificent characters. This show led me into the mysterious and wondrous world of anime.

- I like a whole bunch (B-ball, Soccer, NFL etc.), but for years I haven't been able to follow any competition, truely sad. Grew up in a Rugby League family and suburb, the sport is embedded in my blood, so don't speak Rugby in front of me or RUN STRAIGHT! -__-
Actually we ended up dodging eggs and flour thrown by the boys from MAGS. XD Some of them even egged our house because they saw my sister come home in uniform.
No I haven't dodged the spoilers for the L arc, since I saw the first two live-action movies before starting on the manga and anime. I'm collecting the DVDs for the anime, and I know more characters come up after L, but haven't read any of their storyline yet.
Beck is absolutely awesome show imo... Almost motivated me enough to pick up bass but i knew if i did I would end up just wasting my money since I don't have enough time to put into music and have no music talent at all XD. Definitely a show worth finishing though... I've started watching it for the third time now..
I enjoyed the dub so much that I didn't bother with the sub track. :D
My favourite was the one where everyone was lost in the forest and complaining about there being no food. I also loved the one where Akira's Mother turned Mechazawa into a fridge. XD
