I'm an over-enthusiastic, cynical, elitist, open-minded apologist who is a compulsive writer and guitar/music geek. I watch more anime than is healthy nor socially acceptable and have maintained(?) my blog, mono no aware, since December 2008 (my old blog is long since mothballed but I've kept the posts up for nostalgic reasons).
I'm a loyal admirer of all things weirder, darker and more sophisticated than the norm...which is hard to explain when there isn't a definite definition for it. Somewhere between iyashikei, seinen/josei and muzukashii-kei I guess.
That said, I'm a shameless Type-Moon and Macross fanboy but my interests extend way into the more general realm of a fascination with contemporary Japanese culture, music and literature.

39 episodes though! Seems like a tall order to me... not like that ever stopped anyone, but eh, I do think it's a significant barrier in getting people to start on a series. LoGH and E7 are just so intimidating to start on for that reason alone.
Long time no see, how have you been? It's too bad that you have never seen Baccano, because I was just about to recommend Durarara to you. Its nonlinear story-telling is just so absolutely wonderful and I can't wait for the next episode to come out.
Bwahahaha. Will do, will do, as long as I get last year's (and this year's) shows out of the way. Very soon. Promise.
For the record, you're the first, so thanks for the recommendation! I guess ghostlightning knows by the strength of his posts that he doesn't have to recommend it to me formally, but that's him for you. :P
