I'm an over-enthusiastic, cynical, elitist, open-minded apologist who is a compulsive writer and guitar/music geek. I watch more anime than is healthy nor socially acceptable and have maintained(?) my blog, the End of the World, since April 2006. I also write reviews and editorials for Anime UK News.net.
The blog below is not intended to be a replacement or companion to my main blog, but rather a digital equivalent to post-it notes for reference purposes when writing proper blog posts. I spill out my first thoughts as I watch the episodes and refer back to them later; you're not expected to understand nor even care about them since they're written pretty much for my own benefit.

Long sem break from Oct-Dec, I'll be sure to post every single day (this is a lie) to make up for lost time. Or something.
In the meantime I'll see what I can get around to writing this weekend, offline. Still no permanent internet. Thanks for asking -- mostly fine, could be better, but not worse. Owning @ English is fun.
I already know what's going to happen in Tomoyo After, but I'll give it a shot nonetheless. Thanks for the heads up! See you around.

Epic it is, at least in the scope of the story. I wish it had a bigger budget and more episodes, as something with this scale deserves epic length too. I imagine most * of the Stars fans have a few side characters who they'd like to see more of.
I have a suspicion that the novels might not match up to the adaption, at least in translation - but it's only a suspicion. Didn't DiGiKerot post some reviews of the novels a while back? I can't remember.

Heh, I blame Malaysian inefficiency. The first years are net-less, and I'm one of them, sadly. Oh well.
In other news, NH needs at least 3 readings for you to make any sense of it. Go ahead and get it. It's worth your time, and gives you what is probably one of the most rewarding feelings ever when you finally make all the connections. I can see you liking it.

Hey. Was wondering why my profile had seen a jump in views, and then I realised that Owen 'outed' me in his latest post. Congratulations on starting the long but enjoyable road that is Legend of the Galactic Heroes!

Five minutes early, but happy birthday!

Hey, thanks. (: I'm currently putting my blog through an overhaul (updated the theme to the latest version, re-added pesky PHP tags for the relevant plugins, and new header images), so do keep an eye out for it when I finally get around to posting later today, I hope.
I don't play the guitar, but thanks for the thought! I saw about 5 cover versions of that song before going to bed, and all I could think of while listening to them was "Bah, I can sing better than that". Maybe I'll get a skilled friend of mine to accompany on guitar one day...

Finally got around to watching true tears, huh? Eagerly awaiting your thoughts. Also in need of sleep badly, so see you around.

I see, I see. I've never really been a fan of metal, or heavy rock of any sub-genre, and that encompasses the majority of the brand "alternative" from what I've heard. Undoubtedly, my favourite genre is electronica, more specifically trip-hop, drum 'n bass, house, progressive trance and acid jazz. Until the last few years I've never really been interested in music much, but suddenly I'm bordering on obsession XD. After hearing Hybrid's Wide Angle, and DJ Shadow's Entroducing my faith in modern music has been awakened. In terms of post-rock/experimental rock I like Sigur Rós, but I really love experimental music in electronica.
Anyway, I don't have a lastfm profile because I couldn't be bothered fiddling around with their system. Well, if you're looking for some music in those genres I can definately be of help, but I won't bore you if you're not :)
That aside, Spice & Wolf 4 was finally interesting.

Yeah it seems we haven't diverged by more than 2 in our ratings, which is pretty surprising given how many we share!
I wonder if this similarity of taste carries over into our musical appreciations, especially as I was basically nodding my head in agreement right through your review of the Gasaraki OST. So, what catches your fancy?

Hey, just accepted your friend request when I realised who you were. :)
(figured it was just a boring random add)
I like your favourites.

I feel you, man. :( That backlog thing is a menace, to be sure -- I've got Moyashimon, Hakaba Kitaro, Hatenkou Yuugi, and Shigofumi to blaze through myself. I was told to start TMC with the guy side, so I guess you should, too. Although there's no "official" way of watching it, this was advice from a diehard fan who's seen it like what, 4 times already?
Thanks for the heads up on Mushishi. I'm really doubtful it'll make it into cinemas here, but if it does you can be sure I'll be dragging my friends along with me. The anime so far has been fine, it's just the lack of motivation to watch the next episode that's been delaying it... bleh. Not like that's a bad thing, either.

To make this recommendation more meaningful, unlike that cold and impersonal thing called my blog: true tears is like ef met Byousoku in high school and had an illegitimate child before going their own separate ways. true tears also has its father's (Byousoku) good looks and mother's (ef) literary ambitions made just that little more realistic.
I am also shocked and ashamed that you have a full-time job (guess I got you mixed up with one of them students) but yet manage to update more often. I really should up my output a notch, but editing all those pictures later on when my domain's issues have been settled will be tiring...

Thanks, I'm just relieved the blog made it through without any serious loss- for a while over the weekend the internet left me in serious despair.

Alright, glad to hear that. (: If you ever get annoyed at Deluge taking up a lot of RAM/resources, check out the alpha build of uTorrent 1.8 - apparently it has the same "hax" employed as Deluge after one of its programmers tried to follow what it was doing.
