Thanks for appreciating my review. Just a quick correction though, I made a mistake when I mentioned Gainax; it was actually Anno's own studio, Studio Khara, that animated 3.0. That aside, I'm glad you took to heart the things I brought up. Happy watching!

I also rated Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica an 8, pretty much for the same reasons you stated. It is a very good story, with a few flaws (but what doesn't these days). My first reaction to it was Magical Girls????? Probably not. However, I gave it a go and I was surprised. I guess I was expecting Sailor Moon or Card Captor Sakura, which are just too darn young for me. But, I enjoyed Tweeny Witches very much, so I gave it a go. I liked the story very much. Artwork was very good, music was decent, and characters were, for the most part, quite well developed. Overall I think it is one of the better Magical Girl stories and it has gained quite a following.
