Ok, then be sure to check out BECK! If you like music, or anything, then you must like it. It has every genre you possibly need: Romance, Slice of Life, Shounen, Music, Drama, Comedy, etc.
The characters are also really awesome; Their styles are all very well thoughtout and each character is very unique and gradually progresses very well throughout the entire series (you see them age physically, and mentally).
I'll stop now, but seriously, be sure to check it out; I have never heard of a person disliking this anime!
What I mean is like.. half of anime is shonen. Even most of your favorite anime and manga are shonen (fruits basket is shoujo, the girls equivelant to shonen).. And you're missing out on so many awesome series! BECK in particular.
I also don't understand how someone could go from watching 100's of episodes of a shonen anime, and calling it their favorite anime, to dropping it and changing the rating to 5?
