Previously, I had read two other mangas by these authors: Kono Sekai no Owari e no Tabi and Kami no Kodomo; both of which I greatly enjoyed. This one was no exception. This is truly an avant garde manga, it's style of art and storytelling is refreshingly, even shockingly, different from the typical slice of life mangas. That being said, it will not suit everybody's taste, but it's definitely worth checking out.
STORY -- 9/10
The manga consists of short stories, ranging from 8-pages long to 20-something pages, detailing bits and pieces of people's lives. I was impressed by how seemingly mundane situations became surreal and how

reality seemed more like a dream, with the stories' dialogue. What added to the enjoyment of the stories for me was the focus on the characters' thoughts; there would be just one character narrating the entire story solely from his or her thought processes. It was interesting to be fully immersed in what the character was thinking.
I found it hard to interpret some of the stories. I think everybody's understanding of the stories will be different, based on your own perceptions and experiences. For me, I stopped trying to figure out things like the story's meaning, or its point, after a while and just enjoyed the writing and art. There were some instances though, when I felt like I grasped something important or significant, it gave me something to brood over and contemplate.
ART -- 10/10
I am probably being totally biased when I give this score but I can't help it. I just love the art. Very, very unique, beautifully drawn and most importantly, complements and enhances the story. I won't talk much about it because the art is straightforward, you can go and see it and come to your own conclusions since everybody has different tastes. For me, the art gets a full 10/10.
Overall, if you're looking for a quick read and like strange or abstract stories, or you're just looking for something that's different, you should pick this up.

The reason why I decided to give this manga a try was because its rating on mangafox was appallingly low (like 2 stars) and I was thinking, wow if it's THAT bad I should have a look.
Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed it. The main reason (ok probably the ONLY reason) is because of the art. So I'll talk about that first.
ART -- 9/10
I thought it was beautiful. The style is definitely different, but it was refreshing and very very pretty. (this is just personal taste though) Some panels literally look like museum art pieces. I like how some panels were drenched in dark, grey tones
...
and others had light, pastel colors; making the atmosphere seem dangerous and gloomy or dreamy, respectively.
STORY AND CHARACTER -- 3/10
Clumped these two factors together since they are similar. (plus, I can't elaborate much on either of them. There's practically zero development in both areas)
Well, being a oneshot spanning only 14 pages (or a bit less if you take out the cover page and description) who can expect a 'proper' story and relatable characters. The 'story' (the word 'concept' is probably more fitting in this case) is extremely.. Confusing. Don't try to read too much into it. There might be some sort of obscure, deeper meaning in this seemingly meaningless manga but honestly, I'd rather just enjoy the art and not think about what message it's conveying. (if there's even one)
ENJOYMENT AND OVERALL -- 7/10
Despite giving it such low scores in its story, I'll still give it a 7 in enjoyment and overall. Because the art is so fucking good. But if you don't like the art.. Well you'll just downright hate this manga.
It's not everyone's cup of tea. But if you decide to try reading it, just remember to have an open mind and don't anticipate a conventional form of story. I think the key to appreciating this manga is to not understand it, but to feel it. If that makes sense?

This is one of my most favorite yaoi. (i've read a fair bit and i'm really picky especially when it comes to this genre, so.. that means its pretty darn awesome)
Firstly, I love the character designs. I have always liked Kyuugou's drawing style. The characters look more 'real', they have this sense of boyishness and masculinity that is totally absent in some yaoi/shounen ai mangas. But of all the character designs out of all her (i think its a her?) manga, the two main characters here are probably the best ones. They're quite unique (and very cute hehe)
And the story. Its a one shot, so

chances are you wouldn't expect much. But this one had a surprising amount of depth and i'll just say it's not tagged as psychological in mangafox for nothing. Everytime i re-read it i'm amazed with the author for crafting such a story.

The thing that brings this manga down is the 'hazy' story; it's sort of a go-nowhere kind of plot and it can get confusing and vague. The characters weren't fleshed out enough, especially the main character, which was a pity. Well thats an understatement, I was actually really disappointed with the character development of the main character. There were these little hints scattered in the story that made you realise he has a darker, more complex personality and you just want to find out what he's really thinking. remember; by just skimming the surface: gets you interested and thinking, but doesn't go into details to satisfy your curiosity. In a way, I guess it suits the manga since that would help in keeping the mysterious feel of the story.
But overall, it was enjoyable. The artwork was amazing; everything was well-drawn. Despite what I mentioned earlier about the story, it's still good. It was interesting, definitely, and it draws you in. If you like dark psychological stories with good art, it's worth giving this a try.
