About Charry
Hey, wanna learn some Japanese? Tired of textbooks and stale online courses? Just wanna learn some quick phrases you'll actually hear when you watch anime? Visit my website, http://www.vianime.com. Yes, you CAN learn a language and have some fun at the same time.

Personal Info

More of a lover of games than anime, my first introduction into the world of Japanese fantasy was with RPGs back in the SNES era. My brother was the one who led me down the path to both games and anime, although his tastes are more of the Ghost in the Shell and Macross variety, while mine are more along the lines of Fullmetal Alchemist, .hack//SIGN and Gravitation. I didn't start seriously watching anime until I was about 13 (a vulnerable age for us all...); the first TV series that really reeled me in was .hack//SIGN. I may have watched a few things before then, but .hack//SIGN captivated me like nothing else. The next heavy hitter was Fullmetal Alchemist, a few years later. Then came Death Note, another two years later. Watching series like Gravitation and Loveless also helped me to come to terms with the voracious yaoi lover hiding inside of me.

Two of my recent favourites include Pandora Hearts and Nabari no Ou. Both have captivating, original characters, but NnO has the beautifully detailed artistry that the other lacks, while PH makes up for its bland art style with a more compellingly told story. Their soundtracks are composed by two of my very favouritest anime composers: Yuki Kajiura (Pandora Hearts) and Michiru Oshima (Nabari no Ou). Do check them out if you're looking for a new series to devour!

Hey! I really liked your Pandora Hearts review! Although I've never watched it xD but still it was very imformative and well written. Great job!

Hehe.. I actually find his kiddy voice a bit irritating... >.<

Haha I had to watch Loveless twice before I could ignore the disturbing relationship and just appreciate the story. At that time I had no idea what shonen-ai was, so I was kinda disturbed. Then again, I didn't know what loads of terms were then and made loads of wrong decisions and ended up being totally disgusted.

I thought most people love Junjou Romantica? At least, that's what I gather from it's ranking here on MAL... I was thinking of giving it a try when my tolerance for shonen-ai increase.

Me too! I tend to go very harsh on female leads lol. Mostly cause in Shonen, they tend to be a bit too whiny and in Shojo, too perfect to be realistic. But in PH, nothing was over-done and each character remained very realistic. =D

Definitely. Ah~ often while watching I'd just will for him to speak a bit more. xD

Oh btw, I went to take a look at your anime list. Really pleased to see you liked Loveless. I was quite surprised I liked it, since I'm not a huge fan of shonen-ai. But then Loveless just seemed more appealing compared to stuff like Gakuen Heaven, which I sat through all 13 episodes without catching any hint of a story.

Hey! Just wanted to pop by to tell you I really enjoyed reading your review on Pandora Hearts! ^=^ I really couldn't agree more about how deep each character is, and you put into words what I've always found special about Pandora Hearts.

Hehe... especially the point on Toriumi's sexy voice. I honestly didn't expect myself to fall in love with his voice from just one anime. XD
