I grew up playing video games so there was a big gap from when I was first introduced to FFIV when I was like 7-8 until whenever VII came out so I've played the old school games a good amount of times. IV is probably my favorite of the old ones, probably because it was the first one I played and IX is my favorite of the new ones for reasons much like yours regarding VII =P

XII looks really interesting and is the one FF I'd want to play first once I get the console and the games. It's kind of sad but I haven't played anything past IX since that's around when I entered junior year of high school and started all those APs and had to deal with college acceptances and whatnot. But yeah, as soon as I'm able, I'm buying some console, whether PS2 is still selling or PS3 and getting all the games I've been wanting to play since forever.

So, X and X-2 or XIII aren't really worth it?
