The manga-ka plans on ending the manga soon so it's possible they can time it right for a canon end. I can only hope though.

You definitely won't look at kids the same way after Higurashi. :p
But yeah it is a bit hard to stomach considering it uses kids to show some gory content.

And the reason why I didn't really get the OVAs is because I never read Tsubasa so I had no idea who all those characters were and why they were coming up. xD

I haven't played the VN either but I hear it has some extremely gory scenes. Though most of them probably won't be uncensored in the broadcast version. :(
And lol. As for Higurashi, you should at least watch the first 4 episodes. It's probably one of the most weirdest combination of genres since it combines moe and horror.
You should check out the 1st season if you have time. Out of all the animes I've seen, it's probably the best pure horror anime (though there's also the fact that there's not much horror anime out there).

Apparently, it's the sponsor, Kadokawa's fault. They told KyoAni to make 6 episodes for Endless Eight and then finish S2 with some random Mikuru event. It was all supposed to be just a way to get some more money from Haruhi fans. It seems they had no intention to animate the later arcs like Disappearance etc.
So yeah it was all a big marketing ploy. Though I don't understand how repeating episodes over and over is supposed to get people to spend money on it (especially considering the fact that anime DVDs are expensive as hell in Japan, ranging from $60-$70 for about 2-4 episodes). It seems like they might lose some fans rather than gain some money.
Rather sad to see a somewhat interesting anime turn into this pile of crap.
You should also get to watching the second episode of Umineko. It should be a pleasant surprise for you since you're new to ryukishi07's works. =D

Hmm...we have a lot of similar anime even if it's 63%. Also, I read the manga version of a lot of animes that you have so I didn't watch the anime (like HxH, Naruto, OP, Bleach, Love Hina, FMA etc).
