Same here, highest compat % I've seen so far. Great minds think alike. :] And thanks, you've got a pretty awesome list yourself. Badassery is a general prereq for my favorite characters. Also I see that you, too, appreciate Runge. I think that guy is half the reason why I watch Monster. As it was with LOGH, it will be a sad day when I finally finish Monster, a day that approaches quickly D:

Haha yeah, I think that's normal, since Ferner had only a minor role. He was Oberstein's adjutant/chief secretary who would make all of those comments analyzing Oberstein's actions. A pretty interesting character, I think Ferner's a good example of how even LOGH's minor-character cast is stellar.

Pardon the random comment, but I just wanted to wow at our "Amazingly High" anime compat % and say hi. :O

Yeah, luckily you can just hit 'A' right before you die and bubble your way to safety. If it weren't for that, I think the three of us would have degenerated into killing each other for revenge long ago.

Yes, doesn't mean I retained any of it. >.>

Oh good thing I only know the three mandatory sentences which will get me through life.

Well then,
Bonjour fellow Ottawa citizen.

As pointless as some of their stuff was, I think the scene with the phone call is one of the most brilliantly done scenes in anime. Though the story was pointlessly bland, I think it was SHAFT experimenting with different direction techniques to see what they liked. Looking at Bakemonogatari now, it's clear how much of its style was honed in ef. I wouldn't really accuse them of over-direction. There are very few times when I would make that claim. The only one off the top of my head would be the team doing White Album.

Have you seen Honey and Clover? It's magnificent.

And you're aware that your top two are Madhouse productions (I forget how much they had to do with LoGH)? When they're right, they're right up my alley doing very character centric pieces. When they're wrong, they're mediocre and uninspired.

Yeah, I think they toned it down in the original FMA, because it's so rampant in Brotherhood, that I just get so frustrated. Most of it is so unnecessary. Even if it's present in the source material, it's their job as the adaptors to edit, and realize when a joke becomes hackneyed, and do something about it.

From A-1, I think Birdy, Kannagi, and Okkiku are great shows. Okkiku is definitely a must watch, even if you don't like sports shows, since I think it's done so cleanly, quickly, and with a great sense of humor in the lead character.

Shit's great, but it still can't get Neverender into a cat hoodie.

llxwarbirdxll | 11-01-09, 9:23 PM
How goes your animu watching, Rorschach?

naikou | 10-29-09, 11:32 AM
The sad thing is I wasn't even kidding about those lines keeping me up at night. I actually missed hours of sleep trying to figure out what the author could have possibly been trying to get across.

But no. It's pure shit. The author, by complete coincidence, must have stumbled upon a bit of dialog which makes no sense any way you interpret it. It's like one of those meditative riddles: "What is the sound of one hand clapping?". Except infinitely more disturbing and mind numbing.

I agree, hence my reason for doing so.

HelloClarice727 | 10-26-09, 7:09 PM
Just stopping by to say hi cuz I saw your icon, RORSCHACH OWNS!!!

YoungVagabond | 10-02-09, 12:51 AM
It wasn't just that Hachi was responsible for one of the most cruel backstabbings in any manga I've ever read, but that the continued support that the rest of the band continue to give her in spite of Nobu makes them seem foolish, callous, cruel, and utterly insane.

They basically murder every single character except Ren and Baldy. And the chapters following it can best be described as directionless nonsense.

Such a shame. The first 20 chapters were genuinely very good.

Sounds like an awesome summer to me. Nice to have friends~

> Hopefully some good stuff has come out during my absence.

eh... mmm. Well no. Judging by the first one or two episodes of all the series I've tried, anyway. Only thing I'd like to recommend is Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Season 3, but judging by your lukewarm reception to the first season, even that seems a bit iffy.

There's always the classics waiting to be explored, though!
