About me? Well, I've been watching anime/manga on and off for about a year now. I think its solid entertainment, but I don't really see it as anything more than that.
You can have a look in the sidebar if you want to know my favorite series, but I do have a lot more to watch and discover.
And I get this question fairly often...yes, I am male.
I've just read your Saezuru review and i'm trully puzzeled by it. I'm gonna put a spoiler button cause this might be a little bit long.
If you were trolling, then good for you, if not, i suggest rereading this in a couple of years, you will love it. I garantee it.
What you wrote about the story has nothing to do with this manga.
This is a story about a masochistic yakuza who ironically, ends up falling in love with his impotent bodyguard ( ha-ha ). Also this is the third manga from a series about Yashiro, you should read the first two to get more background for the characters.
There's also no error in what the mangaka wanted to do with the characters, the whole cast is spot on.
Yashiro is indeed a masochistic pervert who makes you and the other characters feel sorry for him. He's always been this way and the only one who doesn't feel sorry for Yashiro is Yashiro himself. But he's also charming, hilarious (who else can give a raped girl condoms as a present?) and kind with those who he cares about.
You can't compare Kaiji to Saezuru because they belong to different genres. It's like apples and oranges, though both are some of the best of their genre.
Also you can't compare it to Seven Days because that's just a sweet school shounen-ai while Saezuru is a psychological yaoi drama.
Maybe mangas should be ranked by genre to avoid conflicts.
The high rating Saezuru has is because of it's fanbase, Yoneda Kou is one of the best yaoi mangakas out there.
But as you can see this in not the highest ranked yaoi, the first one is Sekaiichi Hatsukoi (8.74). That one is much closer to garbage than this one.
If you are in search of mangas similar to Seven Days, let me know.
