SO, I'm a 22 year old asian (chinese) male that lives in downtown Manhattan (for now atleast). I was born in San Jose, California, lived there for 11 years, moved to Taipei, Taiwan, lived there for 8 years, and then moved to New York for college (Parsons School of Design).
I got into manga when I was pretty young... maybe 6-7 years old because I would visit korea occasionally to see my cousins and they introduced me to Dragon Ball (and Slam Dunk, 3x3 Eyes but those would come when I was older). After that, it kinda just expanded from there.
Hobbies would include drawing, music, movies, anime, manga, gaming, basketball (watching and playing) and more. normally pretty laid back despite living in New York.

Oh no, I just used Champloo as an example of a favorite anime which I would be equally perplexed at someone giving a very low score to. I'm not a big fan of Studio Ghibli films in general; pretty animation, nice orchestral scores, lots of fantasy, but I feel that at 21, I'm about a decade too old to be watching them. Kind of the way I feel about Jack London books.
If you lived in Asia for any period of time, the Lakers fandom is understandable, moreso since you were actually a fan at the tail end of the Magic era.
See, in the Bay Area, there are a lot of people wearing Kobe jerseys and claiming the Lakers as "their" team who can't name anyone else on the roster in the last few years except Odom, Gasol, and MAYBE Bynum, and can't tell you anything about their playoff results in past seasons.

Just saw your anime list. If you're planning on watching Aria, the correct sequence is
Aria the Animation -> the Natural -> the OVA -> the Origination.
Just a suggestion, as I didn't see Animation and Origination in there.
I notice Kallen in your favourites, but man, she's been treated the worst, even from first season. Every single scene of her looks like softcore hentai or something, she's leered at by the camera worse than anyone in the show I think, even C.C.
Ah well, just have to accept what its become and enjoy what we can out of it I guess. I do like how every episode ends on a gigantic cliffhanger, we dont see much of that these days in my opinion.

i gave it a nine cuz it lacked a little bit on the explanations but it wasn't terrible, overall it was great. but i do tend to be a strict rater

I've given it just one score below what I gave the first season, because I'm still being entertained, but I just cant take it seriously anymore. I was really into the first season, even though it wasnt perfect, but it felt consistent, you know? The writing in R2 is all over the place, its as if each episode is written by a different person or something.
Lelouch's relationship with his 'brother' is so weak, I dont buy that kid's motivation for a second, and this is supposed to be a major relationship of the season. Rubbish writing, they may as well have had the kid be properly gay (and alter Lelouch's memory to make him gay to boot), at least it would have been more interesting than what we're getting so far.
This show has the most deus ex machinas ever.
I dont like a single female in CG, except for Cornelia, I swear this show's depiction of women is horrendous.

Music is still great as ever though, so its not a complete loss.
I just finished watchin TTGL and it was freakin awesome. I can see why you liked that anime so much. and now i just want more... so i'm startin to watch the parallel work AMVs
