About BradherleysCoach
WARNING: I may test you to the limits of your pre-stablished boundaries with surrealism, nonsense and graphic horror (sometimes real). Stay away from me if you want no psychological damage and feel unable to open closed doors or stand offensive comments about media and popular philosophies/entertainment. And remember - the real horror lies behind what men do.

Probably I'll say DC, but Marvel has some interesting series like Deadpool...

That's good for change. If you mean super hero comics I used to read more American stuff years before. DC VS Marvel was really cool series. Sangokushi is really enjoyable manga to read. It has the old art style that reminds me Tezuka's manga. I'm expecting also "Perfect Blue" on BluRay. I watch again "Akira" on BluRay. It's a whole new experience!!

"Dude, if Evangelion and Code Geass are your favorites, why don't you try some oldschool mecha shit? There's a kit if stuff far better than that. Well, I love Evangelion, and Code Geass plot is cool too (I don't like the mechs in Code Geass...)"

I actually like some oldschool mecha anime like Ideon or Votoms. But I love NGE and CodeGeass for the spiritual content and characters, not really because of the Mechas.

According to Wiki CodeGeass is based on George Orwell's 1984 which makes totally sense to me.

But really, while watching anime I don't think in genre at all. I just try to find stuff I personally find entertaining and that's it.

Ah, yes. I remember. Guess we have the same taste for a lot of things, including metal and even eruguro. That's pretty cool.

And yeah actually since you mentioned it, that is one of the few things I'd like to read. And there are at least a few comics I wouldn't mind checking out someday. Other than that I'd probably just go back and read some of my favorite classic authors like Edgar Allan Poe, Dostoevsky, Kafka and William Burroughs. Not too much interested in checking out other novels though.

I will recommend something a bit off the beaten path since you might actually like this as much as I did, it's an epic fantasy novel called "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant". You might think, "Ah, well it's epic fantasy, ehhhh." But let me just say it's about a guy who is dealing with steadily progressing leprosy, and the author does a couple other really unconventional things that ultimately ended up being rather controversial. Personally I was quite taken with it.

Thanks for the invitation!! How are you?

>Have u read any of Neil Gaiman's Death miniseries? How it is?

Nope, why do you ask? I have read most of The Sandman, good stuff. But I don't read many comics or novels anymore generally, I used to read a lot. But now I'll stick to music, movies, TV, anime and manga.

By the way, I'm also a big fan of Twin Peaks. Great show.

because I wasn't aware of /m/ club on MAL, which in itself might be worthy of greentexting indeed. (Didn't think my profile was so obviously that of /m/an, I guess it can't be helped).

I guess I'll join though I'm hardly active at all in any of my MAL clubs.

Finland is pretty gud place, especially during summer.

Jody32 | 06-19-14, 7:05 AM
I only got on holidays today.
But yeah I'm over halfway through Votoms, and Twin Peaks is still on my to-do list.

Jody32 | 06-19-14, 2:29 AM
I've flipped through them, but I've never actuallyy read it, so I'm unaware of its actual quality.

BUt yeah, Revolutionary Girl Utena is one of the true masterpieces of the anime medium.

>I wanna find more "real horror" like hayami jun, bradherley no basha and unit 743, i mean, evil that men actually do.

I totally understand what you're saying, but to me that sounds more just like a very dark and psychological crime drama type of thing. Kind of like the movie irreversible. So it's almost not even really a horror, but every bit as unsettling, or really even more so than a true horror title because it's realistic so we see the characters as someone who could actually exist. Not real horror, but real evil.

Anyway, my recommendation to you is to read Ultra Gash Inferno when you're in the mood. Most of it is usual Maruo fare (a few are really good though), but in particularl I recommend - 9. Non-resistance City

I think that one so far was the most unsettling Maruo story because it's realistic in the way that you're describing, in fact I'm sure it's happened before. Though I do agree, most of his works are kinda like Poe's in a sense, although I still think he does what he does better than anyone as a mangaka. It's like as realistic as actual horror can get, I think.

And in return I'll read Bradherley no Basha, sometime. ^^

It's good enough if you watch it with the right mindset. It's Gundam for very young children, but I still find it reasonably entertaining keeping that in mind. I'll probably like it more than shitty stuff like SEED and IGLOO or whatever. There are some nods in there for the older viewers that help keep it going.

hartschaotica | 06-17-14, 3:09 PM
Agreed! I love JoJo!
