"I'd rather be myself than be an idiot trying to be somebody else"
14 years old (Time will change this) from israel. Anime isn't actually my main hobby, that reward goes to music. Don't worry though, I have enough passion for Anime for joining such a site, and talking with people here. I'm more into comedies and cute stuff, but I can give a try for anything unless it's really bloody. I'm not ready for that yet.
Hangs around RateYourMusic and Last.fm alot. Sometimes YouTube (commenting on retarded anti-rap videos) and TV.Com for episode reviews. I also watch Megas XLR, Ozzy & Drix and The Powerpuff Girls all on my computer using torrents. I hope I'll expand that though.
If you got a problem with my reviews, don't send a PM and get angry. Give me a comment and we'll discuss it. I love debating, and all my reviews are subjective. Even if I say my opinion is a fact, that's probably just an expression. I'm an open-minded person, really.
Oh, and I'm trying to re-master The Art Of Photoshoppin', I could use a guru or something similier, haha.
Nobody could summarize Truthism.com better than this one
"the world is a lie because people are living in a reality outside of reality's appearances of realism and there are aliens that control Area 51 and the government and the Freemasons hold all the knowledge about the face on Mars which is part of a giant virtual reality matrix with da Vinci and lazahs and crop circles and photoshopped ailens and zombies and dinosaurs and TIME CUBE TIME CUBE TIME CUBE and religion is fake and controlled by the Freemasons who proved that the Norsemen were Nazis and Jesus was a pagan and the fourth dimension is inside earth which is where the portal to Jupiter's matrix portal nazis freemasons EVERYTHING YOU KNOW IS A LIE raptor jesus."
Well you should continue writing reviews your way - everyone else's is pretty much the same so I don't bother anymore -_-
Yes he is an anti-hero. I love that archetype - I don't think I've seen enough series with an anti-hero as a main character. Light is probably more of an anti-hero though, cause later in the series (CG), you'll see that Lelouch has a kind side to him.
My only problem with CG is that there are things that are TOO out of this world that it's almost ridiculous. The second season's story is a mixed bag for me - the writing is kinda weak, but then there are parts that are really clever and exciting to watch.
That's what you're supposed to do anyway, in writing reviews. How can you use someone else's? It wouldn't be a review if that's the case. It just so happens that your style is different - other reviewers, I guess that includes me, try to be more polite even when I have to be harsh, cause I don't wanna look like I'm bashing an anime without enough reason.
Yeah he is similar to Light, which is why I didn't like him at first. If you watch R2 you'll see that he's more "theatrical", for lack of a better word. His ideas are also more extravagant and out of this world.
Oh, I think Light was like the original anti-hero. Now his character type is going to start popping up everywhere now, I bet. I will have to see what future anime will bring.
I never thought he was a good character--he doesn't go through any growth or development. He was the same as a walking sign with the words 'Plot Complication' written on it.
I agree with you on that review for Death Note. The ending was painfully bad, and L is just...I can't see the attraction, honestly. Why as a woman would I want a pallid, greasy-looking, sugar-gobbling, creepy-looking freak with a weird voice and who doesn't wear shoes and acts like an eleven-year-old...?
Well you're supposed to keep reviews subjective - though you might be persecuted for this one. DN has a lot of fans, and they won't be happy if you say that you didn't like even least one, teensy, part of it. That's what happened when I posted my Zero no Tsukaima review (and just about every anime I bashed - with enough reason, of course >_>)..
However, I like your review. First of, I like the way you wrote it, your style - It was very entertaining and interesting. Normally I would just skim through something that long but I read every word of your review.
Second, and more importantly, I agree with most of the stuff you wrote, especially now that I read the manga (well most of it). I don't share the same opinion that you have about the ending, like I said before I found it to be satisfying [and I was more mad that they introduced someone like Near in the story], but I found myself agreeing to everything else you said. You even mentioned things that I forgot to include in my review.
And it's so funny that I'm agreeing to what you said about L. I can't believe I liked him in the first place. I used to think that he was cool and a unique character, but there's so many characters like him - you know, the weirdo stereotype. I guess having a crush who cosplayed as L affected my judgement back then >_> Ah well, I like Light more. I even like him more than Lelouch of Code Geass. Have you seen that anime, btw?
Anyway, that was a great review. Most reviews here are pretty much the monotonous and boring, but yours was different. Looking forward to your other reviews ^_^
Well I didn't really like it that much when I watched the Japanese dub. I'd probably give it a 1-2 points more, but watching it in dub really made me dislike it. I have no plans in rewatching it in the near future.
The ending of DN? I'm gonna say it was satisfying, at the very least. It kinda went downhill when you-know-who died, IMO (mostly because he was my favorite character at the time, but now I like Light ^_^'), but then I'm not sure if I'll like it if he lived until the end. I plan to watch the live action movie, cause apparently it ended in a different way compared to the anime and manga.
