One thing I can say about this anime is, what a train wreck.
ChäoS;HEAd is one of those deceiving animes that has an absolutely wonderful start but fails to deliver a strong ending.
So folks, meet Nishijou Takumi, an otaku who is very anti-social, weak, afraid, and doesn't care much for the outside world. Strange events called New Gen, begin to take place, which victims are hung up to a wall, being held by cross shaped stakes. One day, Takumi is browsing the internet at a local cafe as usual when a mysterious user named Shogun sends him pictures of the New Gen event. Needless to say, Takumi is freaked out. After leaving the cafe, he runs into a dark alley only to find a pink haired girl, covered in blood, pinning a victim up to a wall. The girl seems to know who he is and calls him Taku which to Takumi's dismay, freaks him out.
After this point had happened in the anime, I was on the edge of my seat. This anime I thought, was going places. It really started to feel much like a fusion of Death Note and Higurashi, with the whole psychological aspect.
Later on in the series, everything blows up into a messy train wreck. The story is EXTREMELY rushed and confusing. Chaos Head wasn't hard to follow, but as for plot twists, it severely lacks. Midway through the series, it lessens more and more on the psychological effect and becomes a whole lot easier to predict, which is a terrible way to end an anime.
The characters, eh...weren't impressive. You have Takumi who is afraid of pretty much everything, Rimi who is a bit of a ditz, Nanami who is always complaining about how her brother, Takumi, doesn't care about her, and everyone else just felt like they were thrown in at the last minute. With a rushed story, you have rushed character backgrounds, which all seem way too similar, and somehow all revolve around Takumi.
The sound I suppose was rather fitting. You get that eerie feeling one the series kicks off with the music. The art wasn't bad either. Personally, those two are what made me rate this a 7 overall.
Overall, Chaos Head is a roller coaster of an anime. Great start, but weak ending, but hey, maybe you'll have a different opinion about it. read more

As you probably already know, you need to watch the first season to understand anything going on now. Anyway that's just a heads up.
When I first found Vampire Knight, I didn't know what to expect of it. I had randomly found it and decided to watch it since it sounded and looked interesting. Well, it was interesting. The first season of Vampire Knight actually impressed me so much that I was looking forward to the second season, Vampire Knight Guilty.
Story: Great/Brilliant story. Vampire Knight Guilty drew me in. After the events in season one and that cliffhanger, everyone basically wonders what happens with Zero and Kaname. Great so, in Guilty, Yuki starts off by confusing Zero with Kaname and much more happens between her and Kaname. Yuki struggles to remember parts of her past that she cannot mentally think of. She goes to libraries and even to Kaname to ask for information yet she is left in the dark. The story also gets more involved with the pureblooded vampires as well as more of Yuki's troubled memories. However, if you are expecting the series to end a certain way, I wouldn't count on it too much, the series becomes very predictable, which actually makes me rate this a 9. Near the ending, you become overloaded with many flashbacks, which really overkill an anime, because if you've seen it happen once and again in a flash back, you don't need three more times Though this is just my opinion, I wouldn't expect too much out of this anime. Story gets a 9/10.
Art: The artwork of Guilty is absolutely amazing. Very rarely in animes do you get art that portrays the depth of the characters and their surroundings. However, the art is not perfect. It lacks many things. Every single character is extremely thing and somewhat tall, much like in Code Geass. In many of the flash backs (even in the ones from the first season) why is it, that little kids have heads twice the size of their bodies? I mean honestly, I know it's a drawing but still, it's very disproportional. Art gets a 8/10.
Sound: Don't really have much to say about it, as the sound is typical for this type of anime. I only really noticed the sound in dramatic parts that would usually break out into some kind of fight. The ending sound however is pretty catchy and fits the theme of Vampire Knight Guilty perfectly. Providing an anime has a good ending theme does not get it a 10 if the music in the acutal anime fails to grasp the viewer. Sound gets an 8/10.
Character: You really don't see any character development in the second season, and if you do, it's repeated, over and over and over again. You learn somewhat about Yuki, Ichiru and Kaname but that's basically it. A flat character design really hits hard on an anime since a story needs good character designing. Now what they did give you in Guilty isn't all that bad but it's not great. It's repetitive and limited. Character gets a 7/10.
Enjoyment: Now most of you may think I'm being too critical of the series but I'm not. I'm simply pointing out the flaws. Though however, I loved Vampire Knight Guilty. It was a fresh new anime with a good first season. Though some things were predictable, some were not and this anime has some very good plot twists. I would recommend the first and second season to anyone. It's a great series and definitely worth a watch. Enjoyment gets a 9/10.
Overall: Guilty is not your average anime. It's actually above average. Finding the first season by random was one of the best random things I've found. I hadn't watched many vampire animes with the exception of Trinity Blood but I found myself very fond and drawn into Vampire Knight. The storyline is great and the plot is easily to follow. Overall, Vampire Knight Guilty gets a 9 out of 10. read more

All right so, a drill that'll pierce the heavens.
Not sure if you'll get a review like that but here goes nothing. TTGL starts off in the small, underground population of Jeeha Village with your two main protagonists, Simon and Kamina. Simon the Digger or just Simon, is a 14 year orphan who critizied by his peers for his digging ability. Kamina who seems like a bit of a trouble maker to most of the elders, recruits Simon to his brigade called "The Gurren Brigade" after Simon finds a special drill while digging in the ground.
When this anime starts off, you get the distinct feeling that it may include some slap stick humor, much like earlier episodes of Trigun or anything that has some decent comic relief, but I was a tad wrong. Gurren Lagann has this compelling storyline of Kamina, who one day wants to reach the surface with Simon and leave all the people who doubt him behind. The story develops with the entrance of such characters as Yoko and the enemies of the Gurren Brigade called Beastmen.
Now after a the first few episodes, I became some what bored with this anime. Boy, was I wrong. Once I started watching TTGL again, it gripped me. This anime displays many twists and turns that happen, some that will majorly affect the story later on. The enemies become nastier, the Brigade has inner conflicts, and the story progresses, making it all the more interesting.
The art of this anime is beautiful, but not the best I've seen. My favorite parts have to be the middle scenes which were probably made for a commercial or whatnot because it shows the artists of this anime had creativity and they intertwined that with the plot.
ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH. Needless to say, I loved every bit of the music of TTGL. Every bit of music used, fit so perfectly in depending on what was happening in that scene, whether it be a battle scene or an emotional one. This anime however is one, in which I liked all the openings and endings, which is EXTREMELY rare in an anime, unless it's Beck.
Character development means a lot to an anime and to a good plot. Fortunately Gurren Lagann has this, and they do it well. In the story, you see Kamina try to motivate Simon into doing the best he can and not to be scared of anything. Later on, you will see this advice helps Simon. A character development that surprised me the most was that of Rossiu but, I will not get deep into this as I do not want to spoil anything. Rossiu seems like a decent person. My thought of him at first was a mirror of Simon's old self but with no hope in changing.
Overall, Gurren Lagann had a perfect story from beginning to ending, so it gets 10 out of 10. read more
