About AzureJahk
I am a 19 year old student from England about to start in University. I've been a huge fan of anime since I was 8 when I saw the Guyver OVA series. Since then I hunted for anime videos in local shops and saw the older classics like Ghost in the Shell, Fist of the North Star, Street Fighter II.

I didn't see any anime on TV until I was about 12 and caught an episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion on the Sci-Fi channel (there was an hour every Saturday hosted by the woman who played the king in Monkey). Evangelion became the first anime I bought on DVD which has grown to 180 DVDs.

Genre wise I find it easy to get into Mechas, mainly because there is usually a war which brings ideas about good vs evil, definition of evil and value of life. These kinds of ideas can never have too many interpretations. Having said that though I judge Mecha shows more harshly than others, theres so much of it after all.

Other than that I like any shows with unusual ideas, I like to have new thoughts on things. I watched a show recently called "Shigofumi" meaning after-death letters, basically its about a girl who delivers letters from the dead. It sounds a little emo but it also looks very cutesy (or moe) which was enough of a contradiction to catch my attention. The first episodes a real shocker and there are some very strong ideas present (although not enough to keep it constantly shocking). I will have to watch the 13th ep OVA before deciding a final verdict though.

12 Kingdoms and Mushishi are also shows that are very intriguing for their unusual layout, don't expect mainstream shonen though. Although I watch a lot more animes than I read mangas I always make the point of reading the manga of a good show afterwards (or during) and assessing their decisions as I go. Change can be bad, but not always, Full Metal Alchemist for example veers off completely but is still in my opinion the best anime of all time. The Manga is not weaker but is too slowly paced to support a faithful anime adaption, change here was the correct choice.

Feel free to email me some suggestions, I always need them. Just no Harem stuff...I think its tripe.
