I feel the same way about Gino. He is kind of a jerk but he was definitely my favorite character. I didn't like it as much as Oofuri or Chihayfuru (my high bar for sports shows which are admittedly very high bars) but it was excellent and reminds me how great sports anime are and why I need to find more of them, because even the worst one I've seen, Kuroko, could be very entertaining in a different way. How far have you read past the Osaka match? Or does the manga get that far?
Oh wow, that is an excellent figure. Actually, truth be told I've never bought a figure or any non-DVD product other than my Summer Wars poster. The whole idea is a little strange to me but I wonder if I'd get obsessive with it if I had the disposable income/was living by myself.
I think I'll wait until the anime hits up to where I left off, which shouldn't take too long at the pace they're going at. Or maybe I'll just do it once I'm caught up on all the shorter things I mean to either read or left behind when I stopped reading manga this summer. I know I want to catch up on Assassination Classroom and I think I've missed a couple chapters of Sengoku Youko but I can't think of anything else, so I'll probably start on that soon.
By the way, I saw Shingeki no Kyojin on your on-hold list and I was curious what you're thinking of it. Other than Yotsuba it's my favorite manga that's still running so naturally I'm curious what my friends think of it.

I started Mushishi again but then I realized this was my only chance to watch Giant Killing before CR's license expired, so I decided to go through it first. It actually kind of makes me sad that it is expiring, because it'll be harder to recommend it to others. It's not Oofuri levels of good but it is reminding me why sports shows are awesome. The two episodes I did see of Mushishi were excellent, though made me feel kind of dumb because I can't quite grasp what they're saying.
I'm not seeing any figure in the picture, are you sure you uploaded the right one? You've reminded me that now that I'm reading manga again I need to jump back on catching up to Magi; a daunting task now that it is about 40 chapters longer than when I started it.

Ah, thank you! I know how it is when you're afraid to post on CAA, it's easy to forget how different it is from the rest of the internet.
I actually dropped No. 6 when it was airing but for some reason decided I wanted to eventually finish it. I remember being interested at first but I think most of the enjoyment I got out of it was how hilariously unsubtle the subtext of Shion and Nezumi's relationship. Then they turned out to actually be gay, and it was less hilarious fujoshi bait and more just awkward foreshadowing. I think I was also kind of uncomfortable at the time with an actually homosexual lead couple so that might also have been why I dropped it, but I can't quite remember. I don't remember it being too offensively bad though but it'll probably be a while before I eventually decide to finish it.
Yeah, I actually also dropped Mushishi because I read the manga but I decided to try watching it again at some point because I really didn't like the ending to the manga. Are they the same? I'll probably still watch it but it would be nice if it had a better ending.
Anyways, thanks for the help! I always seem to have a bajillion shows I want to watch or absolutely no idea what I want to watch, so in the dry spots of the latter it's always helpful to get some advice.

Be sure to keep me updated on what you think of Birdy. It's not the best show ever, but it was really fun and got me back into anime after a long period of not caring, so it holds a special place in my heart.

If you were frustrated with some of the confusing parts in Xam'd I think it might be worth it to rewatch. I've been stalled for some personal reasons at 21 for a while, but it's been incredible on a second watch and will probably be a top five show for me.

I didn't think the first couple episodes were that boring, but it has jumped from a middle-tier show to my favorite thing airing. I think another two or three episodes should be good enough to judge.
Also, Xam'd! In case you couldn't tell, it's one of my very favorites :p. I've been rewatching it and finding it even better on a second watch. I think once I finish it it'll land in my third spot. I'd go into further detail, but my keyboard is broken and typing this is a huge pain.

D'awwww, I'm sadface that you dropped Hyouka. What did you not like about it? It didn't really grow on me for a couple episodes either, so depending on why you dropped it you might want to give it another chance.

Okay, that wasn't Oofuri or tsuritama but it was decent. I'll definitely give it a couple more episodes since I'm not really sure what I want to watch at the moment.
And I'm interested in the manga but at the moment I don't really want to read scans, not sure why.

So...what is it that you like about Kimi to Boku? I tried to start it today, but I gave up halfway through the first episode because the characters just seemed so bored about everything, like, no one cared about anything. After the greatness that was Oofuri I'm in the mood for more shows about friendship and youth and stuff, so it seemed like a good pick, but they didn't even really seem like friends. Everyone else loves it though so I'm curious if I just didn't get it.

Do you know how much of Oofuri is animated? Because I need a third season ASAP.

So Magi's start was a little rough, like you said, though I still found it enjoyable, but I am really enjoying it! It's also exciting to know it's getting an anime(and based on the AoEx anime it should at least be good until the ending arrives). I especially started to like it when Aladdin met the nomadic tribe, and the whole world and factions and stuff is really interesting! Alibaba also kind of reminds me of Usopp, which is super great.

Thank you for the info! I also love shonen manga and think the haters can hate but it doesn't matter to me, and Magi sounds really awesome, thanks for the info. Would it be spoiling it to say how the story is getting bigger and such?

Now that I've seen some PVs and stuff for Magi, it looks really neat, but because of limited time and stuff, can you tell me what kind of series it is? It looks shonen-y(not a bad thing!) but I'd like to know a little more about the focus and such of the series so I know when to scratch any itch I have for that kind of story. Thanks!
