Lol -- 9 years is a long time man. Almost an entire decade. As for Cubs fan, its not like they know what victory tastes like, so they don't really know what they're missing to begin with. =P Anyway, I don't live near the city (more like Western New York) so unfortunately, no parade viewing for me. If I was at my parent's place in Jersey, I could have easily taken the subway to the city.
Anyway, sorry for the late reply. I was semi-sick this past week and had a big presentation to prepare for (and create on powerpoint) that was scheduled for the past Wednesday, so I kind of spent whatever time I wasn't sleeping or in the lab on that. But I did manage to read and finish Sanctuary. Definitely a great manga, to say the least. I rated it the same as you -- a 9 -- because I felt that the second half of the manga (after Hojo and Asami were revealed to the public as friends) wasn't up to par as the first half. Kind of like 20th century boys, where after Kenji was brought back from the dead. But still moved to my top 5 easily. We'll see though, I've been playing around with that a bit here and there.
Anything else new man? Felt like we haven't talked in awhile. You said you'd be getting a new laptop around Black Friday, right?

Congrats on your World Series prediction since you did tell Vindemon that New York will win in six games. :lol:
While I'm not much of an NBA fan (I tend to follow it at certain times), I guess I can mention some things to you on what to expect this season.
First off, Dwight Howard needs to prove he can be a better player because I can see Orlando pull out a NBA title in its future (if not this year). Obviously, Boston needs to stay away from injuries (especially Kevin Garnett) because they are a very old team. I'm also curious on how Cleveland will do this year especially since Shaq is joining with LeBron James (in my mind, he should not leave Cleveland because I think it is a huge mistake if he signs with the New York Knicks since it will be like Alex Rodriguez joining the Texas Rangers (never made the playoffs with him in the team)).
Although the L.A. Lakers are the favorites to repeat as NBA Champions, I just have this weird feeling it is not going to happen. For some reason, I think Denver might return the favor to the L.A. Lakers (for getting knock out of the Western Conference Finals last year) by winning the Western Conference Finals this year. Also, I would be amaze if the Ron Artest experiment works out (especially since most people in the U.S. remember what happen in the Indiana-Detroit brawl in 2004). Talk about an individual that has a short-fuse.

Living in the tri-state area, its in my blood to root for the Yankees and hate the Phillies. I also think that the Yanks will win in 6, but to be honest, Cliff Lee scares the living daylights out of me. He's been on a freaking tear since he was traded. I'm pretty sure that whoever wins game 1 will most likely end up winning the series. But who knows. And lol @ Kate Hudson. It's always fun to poke fun at A-Rod.
But the NBA season has started...and your Celtics won yesterday. But so did the Lakers. Any thoughts on the upcoming season?

Well, the Patriots lost again, so I assume that you're happy? But man, the Broncos, it seems, are for real. If they are able to beat the Chargers next week, they should be able to run away from the division in which everyone previously thought that Chargers should have clinched by now. Lol. Funny how the NFL works season from season. And mah Niners. *Tear* Such a poor showing. But my Matt Ryan man-crush side was pretty happy with how he played, so I was a bit conflicted during the entire game. Let's hope the Niners can rebound after the bye.
Meh, the One Piece anime handled the Amazon Lily arc very poorly in my opinion. They really did a bad job with Boa and wow, Toei also had big trouble animating Boa's moe side too. Such a shame, really. I just hope they are gearing up to spend loads of money on the Impel Down arc. -_-

Unfortunately, the cable company did not air the game where I live, so I couldn't watch it live, but seeing replays of the phantom call, I have to agree (even though I'm a big Tom Brady fan - let's not confuse that with being a Pats fan =P) with the ridiculousness of the call. The refs might have called that because there were a few plays previously where Brady was yelling at the refs for a roughing the passer when he got hit. *Shrugs* Whether or not you agree with it, only someone of Brady's accomplishment and status get those kinds of calls (same with MJ in basketball back in the day).
But what about my NINERS! 3-1 (should be 4-0 if not for a prayer of a throw/catch) and Crabtree finally realizes what an idiot he's been and signs today. While I'm disappointed that he wasn't able to go through training camp, I'm pretty anxious to see if Crabtree can actually deliver.
As for One Piece, OMG ITS FUCKING EPIC. Seriously. I don't know what else to use to describe the feeling I get for waiting/reading/witnessing One Piece. I guess I just wish the anime lived up to the manga's awesomeness, but I guess that's too much to expect from Toei. Oh wellz. Thanks man! Lol, yeah, as you incorrectly corrected yourself, I'm usually on MAL at least once a day and eventually, I accepted the position. I don't know whether to be pretty excited about it or worried about the work. Who knows though, it'll definitely will be a new experience.
