It was good. Started a bit slow, those first 4 volumes were really just okay and I didn't feel like it was worth my time to read it, but it picked up when Sakuragi got better and the series was very good by the end. Also had a pretty solid ending which is hard to come by these days.
Any gripes I have would be that I wish the manga had focused more on some of the other characters. It was a little tiring to have almost no one but Sakuragi for the entire 31 volumes and there were some pretty good characters that could have been used more.
Started off on a low 7, but was probably around a 9.2 by the end.I enjoyed it greatly by the ending, but it started slow so I deducted a point for it, also for a few other minor reasons.
I have actually been reading SD, so you know. Just finished the match against Kainan...don't know what I'm feeling towards that ending. I couldn't even facepalm too it.
That's just in case you wanted a link to those ebooks.
I forgot what you went to college for. Was it something to do with computers like me? I vaguely remember that I think. I'm halfway through and have been taking a break for a few semesters. I need to figure out where I want to transfer, and what to change my major to.
Yes actually. By a man named Loomis whom I've read so much about on forums. I got a link to a free download since apparently the copyright is out of date by now.
And I guess I can't say I have much of a plan lol. Basically just draw a lot, sure, but I can't just forget that I want to draw manga. I plan on doing manga studies along with the realistic studies. Loomis said early on in his book that no matter what style you make things, the core elements to a good artwork are anatomy, perspective, and something else lol. I'm sure this will help me since I really like the more realistic looking manga anyway...not the stereotypical big-eyed anime girl stuff.
Do you have any path in mind that you plan on taking?
You're right. I've realized this when I was looking at why people look down on the manga style. Just being able to copy someone's style isn't enough, and I definitely wouldn't want that since there are only a small handful I like to begin with. You need to learn realism as well, and study various things in order to develop your own style...then your own manga style.
On the bright side I think I may have developed some type of training regimen for myself.
Yea, I know how that feels. I asked a professional artist for a video game how to get better. He told me to draw everything...it seems simple enough, but the motivation just isn't there.
I've also been browsing deviantart a bit recently, there are so many styles that have inspired me. I feel like I don't even have a style, and if I do, I don't like it.
