Some tips for writing about a single episode (which is different from writing a full review).
- Take down notes while watching an episode. Things to focus on can include plot and character developments, pacing of events and directing styles (if applicable). It also doesn't hurt to take note of small things since people will probably appreciate your keen insights.
- Pause the episode if you need to think about an event that has occurred. Re-watching parts you weren't to clear on or discussing it with others can sometimes help to solidify your thoughts.
- Try and structure your thoughts so that they flow nicely. Ie. If you are writing about the characters in the episode, don't shift gears halfway through the paragraph and talk about sound or animation.
- If you're new to writing, I'd say go for content over style. Some of the more experienced writers are able to strike a nice balance between both, but it's best to develop your arguments and become comfortable with your own writing style before adding in any flowery language.
- Pretty well anything you learned about essay writing in school will help you out here.
That's about all the advice I can give since writing should be specific to the individual. Hope this helps a bit :)

Hidamari Sketch holds a special place in my heart. It's a great comedy 4koma, but I think I enjoy it that much because I've watched the anime before reading the manga. Somehow I liked manga characters more, even though Shaft adapted it pretty good.
20th Century Boys is quite immersive once it really starts. I was sync-reading it with my roommate and I liked that I could discuss it with someone, try to predict what would happen next, etc.
I recommend both HS and 20thCB (and 21stCB). Have fun.

Natsuyuki does a pretty good job handling the romance and drama between its characters. As a josei title, the main cast members act and behave like adults their age. The plot does occasionally force a few conveniences to allow the romance to progress, but it's nothing too notable. One thing which I've been a bit iffy with is the supernatural aspect, which was kept to a minimum for the most part, but has now become a large part of the show. Despite that, I'd still say it's one of the better shows airing this season.

I'd probably say Jinrui has the greatest potential out of all currently airing shows simply because of its nonsensical nature and focus on social commentary. There are a bunch of other shows which are executed just as well though I feel Jinrui's focus puts it a bit ahead of them.

Why thank you, I appreciate the feedback! Hopefully you my insights at least manage to keep your attention. As for what I pay attention to while watching a specific anime episode, it depends on what the main focus is. Generally I focus the most on the writing and how character development/interactions are handled. In the case of a show being more experimental with its animation/artistic direction, I try to focus on those aspects as well. But each episode is different so my focus changes accordingly. Anyway, hope you continue to follow my writing from time to time :D

Ohh.. cool. I hope to keep my list as is for a while. I like watching slice-of-life, they are really good anime out there.
I see we have a favorite in common. Thanks for dropping by and leaving me a message :)
