and then i got curious about accounts that had seen a ton of anime
so on bing i searched for accounts that had completed a lot of anime
i found a reddit post that said you had legitimately completed over 1000 anime
but when i looked at our shared anime, there is only 33 which is less than i share with my brother who has only completed 79 anime
on the shared anime with my brother he gave them on average a score of 9.4 while i gave them a score of 8.6
the average score i give anime over all is about 8/10
on my shared anime with you, you gave them an average score of 6.9 and i gave them an average score of 7.6
it seems that despite having seen over 1000 anime, you mostly only watch main stream anime, while i tend to avoid watching shows ive heard of at any point before watching them
these days i mostly watch whatevers airing, i choose 8 shows that seem good based only on the title and image, beyond that i only make sure they arent ecchi
but its weird, there are some shows labeled as ecchi that did not seem to be ecchi at all, and theres other shows that arent considered ecchi that are basically hentai
also i noticed that the most recent person to comment on your page was xander365
my name is also xander so i sent him a message saying "but im xander"
and he told me it was the deepest thing hes ever read on this site
for the spring this year i havent decided all of the anime im watching yet
but i do know three of them for sure
Konosuba Season 3 (which i might drop if its too lewd)
Yuru Camp Season 3
and Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night
i do have a list of 7 others that i am considering, i will try to narrow that list down a little bit
A Condition Called Love
Astro Note
Bartender
Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young again
The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio
Train to the End of the World
Wind Breaker
when i first saw your profile picture, i thought it was jesus, so your bio was helpful
i believe it is disgusting that you refuse to accept random friend requests so i am going to do whatever i can to get you to be my friend
please be my friend
Even without all these pieces of concrete evidence that point towards the show not fulfilling the desires of people who want Anno to stomp on them, it just doesn't make sense for a guy who supposedly "hates otakus" and wanted End of Evangelion to be extra mean to... continue making Evangelion? If somebody supposedly hates something so much, why would they spend millions of dollars making sequels to it and spending countless hours working on anything related to it? You don't just make an anime by doodling for one hour then boom it's a finished work and it's in theaters. Do you mean to tell me that you have some insider knowledge where some super secret shadow government is making Anno work on Evangelion, and that he discretely puts these signs that he actually hates making this anime that are engineered so that only pretentious Americans can notice them? Not saying it's impossible for someone who's working on something to have ire for fans or the thing itself, but it's not super common, especially for legendary creators who likely have a crap-ton of autonomy with their work. Once again, something being intense doesn't necessarily mean it was made with malicious intent. Listen to John Coltrane's free jazz albums, are you meaning to tell me he had some random hate boner for fans rather than that he was changing his mindset because of a spiritual reawakening? If anything, he loved the audience the most on his final records.
To answer your second question, I mean, there's that whole fourth episode where he runs away and then resigns after NERV agents bring him back, to which Gendo responds by reconfiguring Unit-01 for Rei. Basically, he already did "let him leave just like that." Granted, he could have guessed (correctly) that he would return and he also puts a program in Unit-01 that gets rid of pilot autonomy, but it's likely that earlier in the show he might have actually let Shinji go.
Np, personal life is a priority, after all.
You have provided no such evidence, nor have I found anything that concretely proves anything you said. In fact there's evidence to the contrary that it's entirely a response to criticism.

Here you go, an interview with the man himself. There's certainly some ambiguity regarding the episode 26 portion, but episode 25 was absolutely intended to be as dark as it is in EoE. Anno says that they ran out of time for the TV episodes in this interview. There's also evidence in the actual show, but I guess you just thoughtlessly watch things.

Here's the original preview for Episode 25. Ignoring the poster's meaningless conjecture description, you can see many key parts of End of Evangelion, like a certain character bleeding out and Eva 02 curled up in the fetal position.
It's also stupid to call it a "fuck you" kind of ending, unless if you're just that cynical and masochistic that you want the artist to be shaming you for whatever reason. The film itself very clearly has an optimistic message to Shinji and the viewer during the human instrumentality segments. The presence of transgressive "messed up" elements doesn't necessarily contradict or reduce a hopeful message. Many artworks in general have these juxtapositions, where even though characters are struggling or in situations incomprehensible to most, they're still living human beings in the end and can make it. End of Evangelion's message to me is one of hope and optimism, that our accomplishments and connections are worth all the trials and tribulations that you will face in acquiring them. Rei and Yui Ikari say something similar to this outright to Shinji. I even believe the "ONE MORE FINAL" segment isn't as pessimistic as people say it is. Shinji and Asuka just went through a horrendous, incomprehensible tragedy that had greater costs than they could imagine, he does a rash thing but stops once he realizes that Asuka is real and alive. Humanity still has a chance, as long as two people are alive.
Regarding your completely nonsensical comments on suicidal people, you clearly do not look at "actual evidence-based research." Suicidal ideation is not just one static concrete thing, it's multi-faceted and complicated. There's not just "one way" that someone feels suicidal, and it certainly doesn't seem to always manifest in action. Regarding Shinji the character, though, it's extremely apparent that he doesn't value his life highly. He constantly puts himself in scenarios where he can die easily, and is apathetic towards death by End of Evangelion. When a SEELE agent nearly takes his life in EoE, he doesn't resist or even look up at his soon-to-be killer. I wouldn't say that these are the actions of someone who isn't suicidal or is very hopeful about their own life.

Do some actual research instead of just being a stubborn man operating on old beliefs. Real people aren't static objects like you want them to be. I sincerely hope nobody ever has to go to you for help when they're depressed or suicidal.

Anime Fans should broaden their horizons!
I just want to check on what I want to watch next after reading your review in GITS SAC2 and it really crowed here lol
I get your complaints about Shinji not being aggressive, but ultimately it amounts to going up to someone with a white house and wanting them to paint it green. What makes Eva strive is how personal it is to its creator, so I don't think that Shinji Ikari reflecting the flaws of Anno instead of being a textbook example of an abandoned child is a grand flaw. I think it's more interesting that the work is personal to Anno and he isn't just adding stuff to be "accurate" or crowd-pleasing. I also don't find Shinji to be super unrealistic, I think that in a surreal post-apocalyptic mecha, I think the last thing I'm complaining about is how it's unrealistic that Shinji isn't angry. I find his pacifistic character intriguing since he still ends up hurting the ones he loves by piloting the Evangelion, and the show just handles his character really well. With regards to Gendo meeting Shinji, again that's really just not something I think would add to the show or is a flaw with it absent, in fact, I'm surprised you're missing the point of Gendo's first meeting with his son still being so distant. I also don't see how its absence represents understanding mental health, is there a correlation?
At least we agree that Gunbuster is amazing.
