I was exposed to anime in my early years. It started with Samari Pizza cats. I saw dragon ball Z, Pokemon, Digimon, and a few others. I wasn't that into anime until my mid-teens. I guess the series that really got me into the "real" anime was Naruto. I started watching in 2005, and it eventually led me to bleach. From there, i started watching Black Lagoon, and eventually Kanon 06, Clannad, and Air.

I was very happy with the first two episodes of Endless 8. The first one seemed like a simple summer vacation fanservice episode to the uninitiated (those who had not read the novels), and the second episode added a layer of meaning to the first one and caught us novel readers off guard (In the novel, we only see the first iteration and the one where they break out). However, the following episodes where they fail to break the loop are all too repetitive, they don't add anything to the story, and are frustrating to the viewer.
I believe their goal is to give the audience the despair that Kyon and (especially) Nagato are experiencing. From an artistic perspective, a bold and laudable goal. From the perspective of the audience, a total bore.
The animation in each episode is completely fresh, though. They don't repeat a single frame. The clothes are different, the camera angles are new, and the shots are imagined.
They really should have broken the loop in the third episode, though.

It's moved several times in the last few months. At the moment, you can find eclipse at http://eclipse.speedsubs.org/
The chat channel on rizon.net at #Eclipse seems to be pretty consistent, if you lose track of them again. I definitely like my archive versions to come from Eclipse, since their subs are always so solid.

See the Kyou chapter for Clannad yet? Quite possibly my favorite arc in the visual novel. Not the best adaptation (suffered from time constraints) but still very enjoyabl.

I would probably recommend Kubu subs. They offer two subtitle tracks, one with the Japanese names and one with the localized American names, which is thoughtful. Moreover, I think it's the only group that hasn't dropped the series.
It helps that the translation is pretty good.

Just watched the first episode. I would have appreciated a fresh draw. As it stands, it's just a remaster with a slightly more vibrant color scheme. It looks dated when squished between the brand new opening and closing sequences. I may just keep watching it for the nostalgia value.

I think you can make an argument that it goes beyond just taste for Goku's voice...They really made a mistake not updating his voice actor after he reached puberty.
That sounds like quite the summary. Dragonball was a really long series (Arguably more interesting than Z). Since I started on the US release of DBZ, I would have liked some explanation of the show it came from. Then again, at that time I never watched whole series, and just enjoyed catching bits and pieces. Essentially, I was used to being hopelessly lost.

Yeah, the filler tended to be ridiculous. At the time I watched it, though, I didn't notice how much there really was. Makes me wonder how much my tastes have changed since that time. Considering I would have never watched a romance anime back then, I'm thinking a lot!

Would you say that it's worth watching? The Japanese voices eventually got to me (I still feel like they should have recast characters as they aged), and led me to enjoy the English release more. I like the idea of it being cut down in episodes, though. A "Cliff's Notes" version of DBZ, if you will.
